2013–14 Brisbane Roar FC Season
The 2013–14 Brisbane Roar season was Roar's ninth season in the A-League. Having arguably fallen from their mantle of being the best team in the country, the Roar were striving to get back to title winning ways by any means necessary. The failure to qualify for the AFC Champions League was seen as an advantage, allowing the club to focus on domestic competition without the distraction of foreign competition. Manager Mike Mulvey was also looking to make his mark on the club during his first full pre season at the club and prove his credentials to the country in the new season. Brisbane Roar FC
Brisbane Roar Football Club is an Australian professional association football, soccer club based in Brisbane, Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland and has won the domestic title on three occasions, as well as holding the longest unbeaten record of 36 league matches without defeat. Brisbane competes in the country's premier competition, the A-League, and has Warren Moon as manager. Matt Acton
Matthew Michael Acton is an Australian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Melbourne Victory. Acton was born to an English mother and half Finnish/half English father. Club career Acton played for Brisbane Roar. He became the first Australian goalkeeper to join the Myanmar National League when Yangon United signed him in. He was a starting player in all of his 14 caps for Yangon where in five games he managed to keep a clean sheet. He assisted Yangon in their second-place finish. Jack Hingert
Jack Hingert (born 26 September 1990) is an English-Australian-Sri Lankan football (soccer) player who plays as a defender for A-League club Brisbane Roar. In 2016, Hingert became an ambassador for the RSPCA Queensland a fitting role for the footballer who has been fostering dogs from the RSPCA for the past four years. Luke Brattan
Nathan Luke Brattan (born 8 March 1990) is an Australian professional football player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Sydney FC. Born in England, Brattan moved to Australia at a young age, playing youth football for Rochedale Rovers and Queensland Lions before making his professional debut for Brisbane Roar. He spent several seasons with the Roar before leaving the club in 2015. He subsequently signed for Manchester City, spending the majority of his subsequent time on loan at partner club Melbourne City. Matt McKay
Matthew Graham McKay (born 11 January 1983) is a retired Australian professional footballer who last played for Australian A-League club Brisbane Roar, and previously with the Australian national team. McKay currently holds the club's record for league appearances, 272. McKay played for Brisbane Roar since their first season in the A-League, and was their club captain up until the 2010–11 season, in which he led Brisbane to their first ever A-League championship and premiership. Following this triumphant victory McKay sought a new challenge in the first division of the Scottish Premiership with Rangers. Jean Carlos Solórzano Madrigal (born 8 January 1988) is a Costa Rican footballer who plays as a forward for Brisbane Strikers in the Football Queensland Premier League. On 26 January 2020, he officially became an Australian citizen. Diogo Ferreira
Diogo Alexandre Alves Ferreira (born 5 October 1989) is an Australian footballer who plays as a midfielder. Early career At the age of 16, Ferreira completed a successful trial with FC Porto and was signed to the club's youth academy. Whilst in Portugal, he was loaned out to a second division team. At the age of 18, Ferreira thought it was time to return to Australia, and returned to Green Gully, his childhood club. Jade Bronson North (born 7 January 1982) is an Aboriginal Australian former professional footballer who played as a centre back or right back. He was a member of the Australian national team, and is co-chair of Football Australia's inaugural National Indigenous Advisory Group. Early life Jade Bronson North was born in Taree, of Biripi descent. Liam Miller
Liam William Peter Miller (13 February 1981 – 9 February 2018) was an Irish professional footballer. Miller began his career with Celtic and was later loaned to Aarhus in 2001. He returned to Celtic Park and broke into the first-team squad during the 2003–04 season. Rejecting the offer of a new contract from Celtic, he joined Manchester United in 2004 on a free transfer under the Bosman ruling. Loaned to Leeds United during the 2005–06 season, Miller made 22 first-team appearances for Manchester United.
