2013–14 Birmingham City F.C. Season
The 2013–14 season was Birmingham City Football Clubs 111th season in the English football league system and third consecutive season in the Football League Championship. It ran from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014. Birmingham finished 21st in the Championship. On the final day of the season, they needed at least a point away at Bolton Wanderers, and for other results to favour them, to avoid relegation to League One. After falling two goals behind, goals from Nikola Žigić after 78 minutes and Paul Caddis three minutes into stoppage time, combined with Doncaster Rovers' defeat, secured their second-tier status for a further season. Lee Clark (footballer)
Lee Robert Clark (born 27 October 1972) is an English football manager and former professional Association football, footballer, who was most recently the manager of Al-Merrikh SC, Al-Merrikh in the Sudan Premier League. As a player, he was a midfielder and played in the Premier League for Newcastle United F.C., Newcastle United, Sunderland A.F.C., Sunderland and Fulham F.C., Fulham. He won promotion to the top flight with all three clubs he played for, winning out right the Football League First Division title in 1993, 1999 and 2001. He was also part of the Magpies squad under Kevin Keegan that finished runners-up in the top flight in consecutive seasons. Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers Football Club () is a professional football club based in Horwich, Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, which competes in . The club played at Burnden Park for 102 years from 1895 after moving from their original home at Pike's Lane. Norwich City
Norwich City Football Club (also known as The Canaries or The Yellows) is an English professional football club based in Norwich, Norfolk. The club competes in the EFL Championship following their relegation from the Premier League in the 2021–22 season. The club was founded in 1902. Chris Hughton
Christopher William Gerard Hughton (born 11 December 1958) is a professional football manager and former player. Born in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland national team. After making his professional debut aged 20, Hughton spent most of his playing career with Tottenham Hotspur as a left back, leaving in 1990 after 13 years. After relatively brief spells with West Ham United and Brentford, Hughton retired from playing in 1993 at age 34. He earned 53 caps representing the Republic of Ireland, scoring one goal and starting in all three of Ireland's games at UEFA Euro 1988 in West Germany. Darren Edward Andrew Randolph (born 12 May 1987) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club AFC Bournemouth and the Republic of Ireland national team. Christopher Robert Burke (born 2 December 1983) is a Scottish professional association football, football coach and former player, who is currently a reserve team coach at Kilmarnock F.C., Kilmarnock. Loan (sports)
In sports, a loan involves a particular player being able to temporarily play for a club other than the one to which they are currently contracted. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to a full season, sometimes persisting for multiple seasons at a time. A loan fee can be arranged by the parent club as well as them asking to pay a percentage of their wages. Association football Players may be loaned out to other clubs for several reasons. Most commonly, young prospects will be loaned to a club in a lower league in order to gain invaluable first team experience. In this instance, the parent club may continue to pay the player's wages in full or in part. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Paul McLean Caddis (born 19 April 1988) is a Scottish football coach and former professional footballer who played in more than 350 professional matches at club level and represented his country at youth and senior levels. Having predominantly played as either a right back or right winger, he could also play as a left back or anywhere across the midfield, due to his versatility and his ambidexterity.
