2013 World Men's Curling Championship
The 2013 World Men's Curling Championship (branded as the Ford World Men's Curling Championship 2013 for sponsorship reasons) was held from March 30 to April 7, 2013 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. This marked the twenty-first time that Canada hosted the World Men's Championship, the fifth time that the province of British Columbia hosted the World Men's Championship, and the second time that Victoria hosted the World Men's Championship. Victoria previously hosted the championships in 2005. The event was also a qualifying event for the 2014 Winter Olympics, awarding points to countries based on performance at this tournament. When his team with skip Brad Jacobs won silver medals on 2013 World Men's Curling Championship, Matt Dumontelle was tested positive for the banned substance methandienone, an anabolic steroid, in a test following the world gold-medal game and he was disqualified on 2 years, this sanction ends on May 6, 2015. Ryan Harnden (born June 28, 1986) is a Canadian curling, curler. He is the former lead (curling), lead for the Brad Jacobs (curler), Brad Jacobs rink. The team represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics, winning a gold medal. Career Early career Ryan joined forces with his father Eric Harnden for the 2007–08 season, as his second. The team, which also included brother E. J. Harnden, E. J. and Caleb Flaxey at lead won the Dominion Northern Ontario Men's Curling Championship that season, and would represent Northern Ontario at the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier. Ryan Bennett Fry (born July 25, 1978) is a Canadian curler currently living in Toronto and playing third on the Mike McEwen team. He previously played third for Team Brad Jacobs, and the team represented Canada and won the gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The team also won the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier. The 2012 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships were held from November 18 to 25 at the Naseby Curling Club in Naseby, New Zealand.
