2013 Walker Cup
The 44th Walker Cup Match was played on September 7 and 8, 2013 at the National Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York. The United States won 17 to 9. Format On Saturday, there are four matches of foursomes in the morning and eight singles matches in the afternoon. On Sunday, there are again four matches of foursomes in the morning, followed by ten singles matches (involving every player) in the afternoon. In all, 26 matches are played. Each of the 26 matches is worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match is all square after the 18th hole extra holes are not played. Rather, each side earns ½ a point toward their team total. The team that accumulates at least 13½ points wins the competition. In the event of a tie, the previous winner retains the Cup. Avon is a town in Washington Township, Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 21,474 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Bobby Wyatt
Bobby Wyatt (born August 1, 1992) is an American professional golfer. He had a successful amateur career, playing in the 2013 Walker Cup. Youth career Wyatt attended UMS-Wright Preparatory School, graduating in 2010. He shot a 57 at the Alabama Boys State Junior Championship. He was a four-time AHSAA state champion. College career He was part of the University of Alabama team that won the 2013 and 2014 NCAA Division I Championship. He won the Southeastern Conference individual championship in 2014. The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie.
