2013 Tour Of Beijing
The 2013 Tour of Beijing was the third running of the Tour of Beijing stage race. It started on 11 October in Beijing's Shunyi District and ended on 15 October at the Bird’s Nest Piazza after five stages. It was the 29th and final race of the 2013 UCI World Tour season. Beñat Intxausti of the won the race after his mountain–top–finish victory on stage 4. Schedule Participating teams As the Tour of Beijing is a UCI World Tour event, all nineteen UCI ProTeams were invited automatically and obligated to send a squad. In addition the race organisers awarded a wildcard place to the team. 2013 UCI World Tour
The 2013 UCI World Tour is the fifth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the Tour Down Under on 22 January. __TOC__ Teams The UCI ProTeams compete in the World Tour, with UCI Professional Continental teams, or national squads, able to enter at the discretion of the organisers of each event. Miaofengshan (), named after the mountain with the same name, is a town in Mentougou District, in the eastern edge of the Western Hills of Beijing. Roberto Ferrari (born 9 March 1983) is an Italian former professional cyclist, who competed professionally between 2007 and 2019 for the Tenax, , , , and teams. Career Ferrari was born in Gavardo. After stage 3 of the 2012 Giro d'Italia in Horsens, Denmark, Ferrari was relegated from 10th to 192nd position after the race jury ruled that he was responsible for a crash that brought down world champion Mark Cavendish and race leader Taylor Phinney since he swerved from the left to the right side of the road in the final meters. He stated after that mishap that "I don't care what is going on behind me". He gained extensive disapproval with this statement, from within the professional peloton and from the public. Michael James Matthews (born 26 September 1990) is an Australian professional road and track cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Early career He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder, and in 2010 he became the Under 23 Road Race World Champion. Alessandro Petacchi (born 3 January 1974) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 1996 and 2015. A specialist sprinter, Petacchi has won 48 grand tour stages with wins of the points jersey in the Giro d'Italia in 2004, the Vuelta a España in 2005 and the Tour de France in 2010.
