2013 Orlando City SC Season
The 2013 Orlando City Soccer Club season was the club's third season of existence in Orlando. Orlando finished second in the overall regular-season table. They were declared 2013 USL Pro Champions after beating Charlotte Eagles 7–4 in front of 20,886 fans at the Fifth Third Bank Field at the Citrus Bowl. Background The first set of returning players was announced on November 7, 2012, including Jamie Watson, Miguel Gallardo, Rob Valentino, Anthony Pulis, Mechack Jérôme and Adama Mbengue. Adama Mbengue
Adama Mbengue (born 1 December 1993) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a left-back for French club Châteauroux. Career Club After being scouted in Senegal during his time with Orlando City Academy Affiliate, Sport Galaxy, Mbengue played with Orlando City in the 2012 Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic at the age of 19 and later joined USL PDL club Orlando City U-23, where he made 10 appearances in 2012. On 21 June 2012, Mbengue was promoted to Orlando City's senior roster, making him the first player in club history to be promoted from the U23s to the pro side. Jon Kempin
Jonathan Kempin (born April 8, 1993) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. He previously appeared for Sporting Kansas City (SKC), LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew SC, and D.C. United and spent time on loan with Orlando City, OKC Energy, San Antonio Scorpions, Swope Park Rangers, LA Galaxy II, Hartford Athletic, San Diego Loyal, and Loudoun United. Yann Songo'o
Yann Songo'o (born 19 November 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Bradford City. Born in France, he has represented Cameroon at youth level. Club career Early years Songo'o began his career in Spain, playing in Deportivo's youth categories. He then had a short period in the French club FC Metz, and in 2009 he was moved to Spain, playing for Real Zaragoza's youth ranks. Christian Duke (born June 5, 1991) is an American soccer player. Career College Duke spent his entire college career at the University of San Diego. After making only two appearances in 2009, Duke made 17 appearances in his sophomore year in 2010 and tallied two assists on his way to being named All-WCC honorable mention. In 2011, he made 18 appearances and tallied four assists. In his senior year in 2012, Duke made 23 appearances and was named All-West Coast Conference Second Team despite finishing the year without a goal or an assist. The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is a multi-purpose sports complex located in the Walt Disney World Resort, in Bay Lake, Florida, United States, near Orlando. The complex includes nine venues and hosts numerous professional and amateur sporting events throughout the year. Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic
The Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic is an annual preseason soccer tournament for clubs in North America. Hosted by Disney, it is contested at Hess Sports Fields' Field 17, part of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The tournament debuted with four teams in 2010 and is broadcast online by ESPN3.
