2013 New Zealand Warriors Season
The 2013 New Zealand Warriors season was the nineteenth season in the club's history. Coached by Matthew Elliott and captained by Simon Mannering, the Warriors competed in the National Rugby League's 2013 Telstra Premiership. They finished the regular season in 11th (out of 16 teams), failing to make the finals for the second consecutive year. Matthew Elliott (rugby League)
Matthew Elliott (born 8 December 1964) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach, commentator and former player. He has previously coached in the NRL with the Canberra Raiders, Penrith Panthers and the New Zealand Warriors, as well the Bradford Bulls in the Super League and the United States national team. Elliott is currently the Assistant Coach at the St. George Illawarra Dragons. Playing career Born on Thursday Island, Elliott grew up in Townsville in far north Queensland. Elliott played for Bondi United and was an Eastern Suburbs Roosters lower grade player. He played two seasons with French club, Le Pontet, winning the league and cup double in 1987-88. Between 1989 and 1992 Elliott played 61 games for the St. George Dragons. 2013 All Stars Match
The 2013 All Stars Match was the fourth of the annual representative exhibition matches played between the Indigenous All Stars and the NRL All Stars team which was held on 9 February 2013. Once again the players were selected through a voting scheme which over 40,000 fans polled their selections over the two online voting stages. Final stage voting for both sides were closed on the midnight 14 January. After the success of the previous three events the match was moved from Gold Coast's Skilled Park to the larger capacity Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The Indigenous All Stars won the match 32–6 to even the ledger with two wins from the four games played so far. Both Ben Barba and Reece Robinson became the first players to score a hat-trick in an All Stars match. Sio Siua Taukeiaho
Sio Siua Taukeiaho (born 3 January 1992) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Catalans Dragons in the Super League. He plays for Tonga national rugby league team, Tonga and played for New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand at international level. Charlie Gubb
Charlie Gubb is a New Zealand former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Widnes Vikings in the Super League. Early years Gubb, of Māori descent, attended Wellington College and played for their first XV rugby union team before switching to rugby league in 2008, playing for the University Hunters club in the Wellington Rugby League competition. He signed with the New Zealand Warriors in 2010, turning down offers from the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the Wests Tigers. Dominique Peyroux (born 21 January 1989) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward or for Toulouse Olympique in the Betfred Championship. He has played for the Cook Islands and Samoa at international level. He previously played for the Gold Coast Titans and the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL, and St Helens in the Super League. Jacob Lillyman (born 7 March 1984) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. Throughout his career, he played for the North Queensland Cowboys, New Zealand Warriors and Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League, while representing Queensland in State of Origin as a or . Penrith Panthers
The Penrith Panthers are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith that competes in the NRL. The team is based west of the centre of Sydney, at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Penrith are the current reigning NRL Premiers, having won the title four times. Suaia Matagi (born 23 March 1988), also known by the nickname of "Sui", is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Castleford Tigers in the Betfred Super League. He is both a New Zealand and Samoan international.
