2013 Navotas Local Elections
Local elections were held in the city of Navotas on May 13, 2013 within the Philippine general election. Re-electionist mayor-John Rey Tiangco won with a margin of almost 50% on his closest rival and the incumbent vice-mayor, Patrick Joseph Javier who was replaced by the winner of the vice-mayoral elections. John Rey Tiangco
John Reynald Marcelo Tiangco (born November 21, 1972) is a Filipino people, Filipino politician who has served as mayor of Navotas since 2022, having previously held the position from 2010 to 2019. A member of the local Partido Navoteño, Tiangco served as the representative for the Navotas's at-large congressional district, lone district of Navotas prior to his return to the city's mayoralty, preceding and succeeding his brother Toby Tiangco, Toby. The Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas (League of Barangays in the Philippines) and the Asosasyon ng mga Kapitan ng Barangay (Association of Barangay Captains) or ABC are formal organizations of all the barangays in the Philippines. Presently, almost 42,000 barangays are part of this organization, making it the association of Philippine local government units with the largest membership. Local elections were held in the Philippines on May 13, 2013, the same day and on the same ballot as national elections. Elected were governors, mayors and council members of Philippine provinces, Philippine cities and Philippine municipalities. Separate elections for barangay officials were held on October. The ''Daily Tribune'' is an English-language broadsheet publication in the Philippines. Its office is in the 3450 Concept Building, Florida Street, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. ''The Daily Tribune'', as it was called then, was founded on February 1, 2000, by a group of journalists from the then-defunct ''The Philippine Post'' led by then-Editor-in-Chief and Founding Chairman Ninez Cacho-Olivares. Team PNoy, formerly known as the LP–Akbayan–NPC–NP–LDP Coalition, was a political umbrella coalition in the Philippines, originally formed to support the administration-backed senatorial line-up for the 2013 Philippine Senate election. 2010 Navotas Local Elections
Local elections was held in the city of Navotas on May 10, 2010 within the Philippine general election. The brother (John Rey Tiangco) of the incumbent-mayor, Toby Tiangco was elected to the city mayoralty. Partido Navoteño won a majority of won seats. Mayoral and vice mayoral election Incumbents mayor Tobias Reynald Tiangco and vice mayor Patrick Joseph Javier were on their third term as mayor and second term as vice mayor of Navotas, respectively. Toby's brother, John Rey, announced that he would run for the mayoralty of the city. They are running under the Nationalist People's Coalition although Javier was endorsed by the Liberal Party. If Javier wins, he will be on his third and final term. Mayor Tiangco is running for a congressional post in the Lone District.
