2013 Naisten Liiga
The 2013 Naisten Liiga, part of the 2013 Finnish football season, was the 7th season of the Finnish women's premier division Naisten Liiga since its establishment in 2007. The season started on 23 March 2013 and ended on 19 October 2013. Åland United were the defending champions, having won their first Finnish championship in 2012. The season featured 10 teams. After 18 matches played, the league was divided to Championship Group of six and Relegation Group of four. The Champion, Åland United, qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Women's Champions League and GBK Kokkola was relegated to the Naisten Ykkönen for the 2014 season. The Kansallinen Liiga ('National League') is the premier division of women's football in Finland. It was previously called the Jalkapallon naisten SM-sarja ('Women's Football Finnish Championship Series') during 1974 to 2006 and the Naisten Liiga (, 'Women's League') during 2006 to 2019, The first season under the name Kansallinen Liiga was played in 2020. HJK Helsinki (women)
Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi is a Finnish women's football team representing HJK Helsinki in the Kansallinen Liiga. HJK is the championship's most successful team by a large margin, having won 22 titles between 1971 (its founding year) and 2005. The team enjoyed their best winning streak between 1995 and 2001. The following HJK reached the semifinals of the inaugural edition of the UEFA Women's Cup, their best result in three appearances in the competition. In the subsequent six years from 2005 it has failed to win the championship, finishing either 2nd, 3rd or 4th.
