2013 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2013 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 14th edition of the men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held alongside the women's tournament from 17 until 25 August 2013 in Boom, Belgium. The main sponsor for the tournament was TriFinance Germany defeated Belgium in the final to win their eighth title and they earned their qualification to the 2014 World Cup. Qualified teams Format The eight teams were split into two groups of four teams. The top two teams advanced to the semifinals to determine the winner in a knockout system. The bottom two teams played in a new group against the teams they did not play in the group stage. The last two teams were relegated to the EuroHockey Championship II. Boom, Belgium
Boom (, ; ) is a Belgian town, located in both the arrondissement and province of Antwerp. In 2021, Boom had a total population of 18,799. The total area is 7.37 km² (2.85 sq mi). Tom Alain Boon (born 25 January 1990) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a forward for Léopold and the Belgium national team. He won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics. Club career He started at Royal White Star HC, and after also having played for Bloemendaal, he played four years for the Belgian team Racing Club de Bruxelles. Roc Oliva Isern (born 18 July 1989), also known as "Metra", is a Spanish former field hockey player who played as a midfielder or forward for the Spanish national team. Oliva played most of his career for Atlètic Terrassa HC but from the 2018–19 season onwards he played for Real Club de Polo until his retirement in 2021. Pau Quemada Cadafalch (born 4 September 1983) is a Spanish field hockey player who plays a forward for Belgian club Leuven. He played a total of 293 times for the Spanish national team from 2003 until 2021. Club career Quemada played club hockey in Spain for Club Egara before moving to Larensche Mixed Hockey Club in the Netherlands in 2005. He left them after one season because they were relegated.
