The 2013 Malaysia Grand Prix Gold was the fifth grand prix gold and grand prix tournament of the 2013 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held in Juara Indoor Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 30 April to 4 May 2013 and had a total purse of $120,000. Tommy Sugiarto (born 31 May 1988) is an Indonesian badminton player who is a singles specialist. He was the bronze medalist at the 2014 World Championships. Sugiarto competed at the 2014 Asian Games and 2016 Summer Olympics. Personal life Tommy Sugiarto is the son of the former badminton world champion Icuk Sugiarto. Chan Yan Kit (, born 10 December 1985) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. He competed at the Asian Games from 2006 to 2014. Career He competed at the 2006 IBF World Championships in men's singles and was defeated in first round by Eric Pang. The next year he reached quarterfinals at the 2007 Badminton Asia Championships, losing against Yeoh Kay Bin 13-21, 21-9, 21-14. Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin
Iskandar Zulkarnain bin Zainuddin (born 24 May 1991) is a Malaysian badminton player and coach. He represented Malaysia as the third singles in the 2018 Thomas Cup and helped Malaysia qualify for the quarter finals. Iskandar was appointed as part of the Irish badminton coaching staff in 2021. Iskander has further gone back to Malaysia, but will return to coach in Ireland later in 2022. Rajah Menuri Venkata Gurusaidutt or R. M. V. Gurusaidutt or Gurusai Dutt born (on 1 March 1990) to RMV Bharadwaj and RM Anjana is a badminton player from India. He trains at the Hyderabad's Gopichand Badminton Academy. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games and the bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Ashton Chen or Chen Yong Zhao (; born 9 September 1989) is a Singaporean retired badminton player and a former national champion. Career Chen was part of the South East Asian Games men's team that won silver medal in the 2007 edition and bronze medals in the 2009, 2011 editions. In 2012, he won the men's singles title at the Singaporean National Badminton Championships. At the BWF event tournaments, he has won the men's singles title at the 2007 Waikato and 2011 Smiling Fish Thailand International tournament, and in the men's doubles, he won the 2011 Maldives International tournament. Chen quits the national team on 11 April 2014 after playing his final game for Singapore in the Djarum Superliga 2014 tournament. Derek Wong (born Wong Zi Liang, traditional Chinese: 黃梓良, 13 January 1989) is a retired Singaporean badminton player. Wong is a two-time Olympian, who took part at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, where he was flag bearer in the latter's Parade of Nations. Early life Wong was born on 13 January 1989, in Singapore, to parents Wong Shoon Keat and Irene Lee. He grew up in a badminton-loving family with three other brothers (Shawn, Jamie and Jason). Both his parents are former national champions and they own a badminton shop at the old Singapore Badminton Hall. Wong started playing badminton, at age 5 when his father took him to the hall to play badminton for the first time.
