2013 Kansas Jayhawks Football Team
The 2013 Kansas Jayhawks football team represented the University of Kansas in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Jayhawks were led by second year head coach Charlie Weis and played their home games at Memorial Stadium. They were a member of the Big 12 Conference. On September 21, with a 13–10 win over Louisiana Tech, the Jayhawks ended a 22-game losing streak to FBS opponents. On November 16, the Jayhawks ended their 27 conference game losing streak with a 31–19 defeat of visiting West Virginia. The conference win was the Jayhawks first conference win since their 52–45 defeat of Colorado during the 2010 season. Charlie Weis
Charles Joseph Weis Sr. (born March 30, 1956) is a former American football coach. He was the head coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2005 to 2009 and the Kansas Jayhawks from 2012 to 2014. He also served as an offensive coordinator in the National Football League for the New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs. Weis currently hosts "Airing It Out," along with Bob Papa, on Sirius XM NFL Radio. Coaching career After graduating from Notre Dame in 1978, Weis began his coaching career at Boonton High School in New Jersey. He spent the next five seasons at perennial powerhouse Morristown High School in New Jersey as a football assistant developing players such as Michael Landsberg. Rice Stadium (Rice University)
Rice Stadium is an American football stadium located on the Rice University campus in Houston, Texas. It has been the home of the Rice Owls football team since its completion in 1950, and hosted John F. Kennedy's "We choose to go to the Moon" speech in 1962 and Super Bowl VIII in early 1974. Architecturally, Rice Stadium is an example of modern architecture, with simple lines and an unadorned, functional design. The lower seating bowl is located below the surrounding ground level. Built solely for football, the stadium has excellent sightlines from almost every seat. To achieve this, the running track was eliminated so that spectators were closer to the action and each side of the upper decks was brought in at a concave angle to provide better sightlines. It is still recognized in many circles as the best stadium in Texas for watching a football game. The 2013 Baylor Bears football team represented Baylor University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bears, coached by Art Briles, were playing their 115th football season; this year was the team's 64th and final season at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas.
