2013 Hawaii Bowl
The 2013 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl was an American college football bowl game that was played on December 24, 2013, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. The twelfth edition of the Hawaii Bowl, sponsored by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, featured the Boise State Broncos from the Mountain West Conference against the Oregon State Beavers from the Pac-12 Conference. It was one of the 2013–14 bowl games that concluded the 2013 FBS football season. It began at 3:00 p.m. HST (8:00 p.m. EST) and aired on ESPN. Oregon State defeated Boise State, 38–23. Aloha Stadium
Aloha Stadium is a closed multi-purpose stadium located in Halawa, Hawaii, a western suburb of Honolulu (though with a Honolulu address). The eleventh edition of the Hawaii Bowl, sponsored by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, began at 3:00 p.m. Hawaii–Aleutian Standard Time, HST and aired on ESPN. It featured the 2012 SMU Mustangs football team, SMU Mustangs from Conference USA against the Mountain West Conference co-champion 2012 Fresno State Bulldogs football team, Fresno State Bulldogs, and was the final game of the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season for both teams. The Washington Huskies football team represents the University of Washington in college football. Washington competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Chris Petersen
Christopher Scott Petersen (born October 13, 1964) is a former American football coach who was most recently the head coach at the University of Washington. Previously the head coach for eight seasons at Boise State University, Petersen guided the Broncos to two BCS bowl wins: the (2006 Season) 2007 and (2009 Season) 2010 Fiesta Bowls. He is the first two-time winner of the Paul "Bear" Bryant Award, which he won in 2006 and 2009. Petersen also won the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award in 2010. At Washington, Petersen led the Huskies to the College Football Playoff in 2016, but fell to Alabama in the Peach Bowl. The Hawaii–Aleutian Time Zone observes Hawaii–Aleutian Standard Time (HST) by subtracting ten hours from Coordinated Universal Time ( UTC−10:00). The clock time in this zone is based on the mean solar time of the 150th meridian west of the Greenwich Observatory. The zone takes its name from the two areas it includes: Hawaii and the portion of Alaska's Aleutian Islands west of 169° 30′ W longitude. The 2013–14 NCAA football bowl games were a series of college football bowl games. They concluded the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season, and included 35 team-competitive games and three all-star games (down from four as the Texas vs the Nation game was cancelled for this season). The games began on Saturday December 21, 2013 and, aside from the all-star games, ended with the 2014 BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena that was played on January 6, 2014. The 2013 Boise State Broncos football team represented Boise State University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Hawaiʻi Bowl is a college football bowl game that has been played in the Honolulu, Hawaii area since 2002. The game was originally held at Aloha Stadium in Halawa, Hawaii, a suburb of Honolulu, before moving to the Clarence T. C. Ching Athletics Complex in 2022.
