2013 Formula 3 Sudamericana Season
The 2013 Formula 3 Sudamericana season was the twenty-seventh and final season of the Formula 3 Sudamericana. It begin on 7 April at Interlagos and ended on 1 December at Curitiba, after eighteen races. In 2014 the championship becomes a Brazilian Championship. Drivers and teams * All cars are powered by Berta engines, and run on Pirelli tyres. Race calendar and results A calendar for the 2013 season was released on 21 December 2012, with all Brazilian rounds supporting Brasileiro de Marcas events. A round in Argentina was also scheduled, with the venue later confirmed as the Autódromo Ciudad de Concordia, supporting the TC 2000 Championship. Formula 3 Sudamericana was a South American Formula Three championship. It was inaugurated in 1987 and primarily held races in Brazil and Argentina, with a small number of events held in other countries across the continent. Its most notable graduates include former Formula One drivers Nelson Piquet Jr., Ricardo Zonta and Christian Fittipaldi, four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Hélio Castroneves, and Champ Car champion and former F1 driver Cristiano da Matta. The Autódromo Internacional Zilmar Beux de Cascavel is an automobile racing complex located off Highway BR-277 in the city of Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil. The paved track is long. History The first races were carried out by automobiles on city streets in the 1960s, by amateurs and locals, which led to the building of a permanent location for motorsport events. In 1973 the Automóvel Clube de Cascavel circuit opened, being the third track with asphalt in the country. The track came to host main competitions at national level. It was at the circuit that the Fórmula Truck series began. The circuit is a regular host of the Stock Car Pro Series. Autódromo Brasília BRB is a racing circuit in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. It is in length and hosts a variety of national-level series including Stock Car Brasil, Formula Truck and Formula 3 Brasil. The track was initially opened in 1974, and hosted non-championship rounds for both Formula One and the BPR Global GT Series, and in recent years was scheduled to host both MotoGP and IndyCar, but due to costs and construction delays, neither event went ahead. The TC2000 (''Turismo Competición 2000'', formerly ''Súper TC2000'') is a touring car racing series held in Argentina since 1979. Rules Prior to 2012, engines of up to were allowed, with only limited modifications from standard engines. This was both to reduce running costs, and give a level playing field to every team. Autódromo José Carlos Pace
The Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, is a motorsport circuit located in the city of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Interlagos. It was inaugurated on 12 May 1940, by the federal intervener Adhemar de Barros. The traditional name of the circuit and of the neighborhood itself comes from the fact that it is located in a region between two large artificial lakes, Guarapiranga and Billings, which were built in the beginning of the 20th century to supply the city with water and electricity. In 1985 the circuit was renamed to honor the Formula 1 driver José Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. Attached to its facilities there is a Kart circuit named after Ayrton Senna.
