2013 Finnish Cup
The 2013 Finnish Cup ( fi, Suomen Cup) is the 59th season of the main annual association football cup competition in Finland. It is organised as a single-elimination knock–out tournament. Participation in the competition is voluntary. A total of 152 teams registered for the competition, with 12 teams from the Veikkausliiga, 8 from the Ykkönen, 31 from the Kakkonen, 54 from the Kolmonen and 101 teams from other divisions. The tournament started on 5 January 2012 with the first match of Round 1. Many matches in the early rounds are played on artificial pitches in indoor halls. Teams Round 1 In this round 70 clubs entered from the Finnish fourth level and below, while the other 31 clubs from the lower divisions received byes to the next round. FC Honka
FC Honka is a Finnish football club based in Espoo. It was founded in 1957 as Tapion Honka, and changed its name to FC Honka in 1975. The club currently play in the Finnish premier division (''Veikkausliiga''), having been promoted for the first time in their history at the end of the 2005 season. It plays its home matches at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto. FC Honka is largely renowned in Finland for its extensive youth scheme with over 1,000 youth players playing in various age groups. Nummelan Palloseura
Nummela Palloseura (abbreviated NuPS) is a sports club from Nummela in Vihti, Finland. The club was formed in 1964 and since the outset football has been the dominant sport. NuPS runs around 30 teams with men's, women's and junior sections. In addition the club runs leagues and tournaments, outside activities for infants, developmental activities for disabled children and general fitness football for players of all ages. In 2008 the club had around 625 registered players and in 2009 this increased to 700 players (750 players when peripheral football activities are included). Pajamäen Pallo-Veiko (abbreviated PPV) is a Helsinki-based football club centred on Pajamäki. The club was formed in 1969 and has a catchment covering the western Helsinki area. From the outset the development of junior football has been an important part of club activities. In the first decade of the new millennium the number of junior players has increased by over a hundred and there have been similar advancements at the adult level. PPV are one of Helsinki's longest-running lower division clubs. For almost 40 years the PPV first team has been playing at the Kolmonen level and has experienced neither relegation or promotion. SAPA (Savannan Pallo)
SAPA (original name Savannan Pallo) was founded in Helsinki in 1970. The club was established at the Savanna restaurant when a group of young men wanted more activities than sitting around the place. It was eventually decided that a sports club's name could not be the restaurant's name and as a result the name was changed to the abbreviation SAPA. In addition to football the club provides for the sport of floorball. SAPA run two men's teams, their home ground being located at the Kumpulanlaakson kenttä. (Kumpulanlaakso playing-field). Jakobstads BK, also known as JBK, is a Finnish Football team from Jakobstad currently playing in Kakkonen, a third tier soccer league in Finland. The club's home venue is Västra plan. History The club was founded at a meeting held on December 14, 1944. Jakobstads Bollklubb's first official match was played on May 10, 1945 against NIK. Helsingin Palloseura (HPS) ( en, Helsinki Ball Game Club) is a sports club from Helsinki, Finland established in 1917. HPS has been active in several sports including bandy, ice hockey, football, handball and basketball.
