2013 FIBA Asia Championship Qualification
The qualification for the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship was held in late 2012 from early 2013 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Central Asia and South Asia each conducting tournaments. Qualification format The following are eligible to participate: * The organizing country. * The champion team from the previous FIBA Asia Cup. * The four best-placed teams from the previous FIBA Asia Cup will qualify the same number of teams from their respective sub-zones. * The two best teams from the sub-zones of East Asia, Gulf, Southeast Asia and West Asia and the winner from the sub-zones of South Asia and Central Asia. ;Berths FIBA Asia Cup Qualified teams * Lebanon originally qualified for the tournament but was suspended by FIBA due to unresolved issues in its basketball federation. 2013 FIBA Asia Championship
The 2013 FIBA Asia Championship for Men was the intercontinental championship for basketball organized by FIBA Asia that served as the qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. The tournament was held from August 1–11 in Metro Manila, Philippines. Beirut, Lebanon was supposed to host the tournament but the hosting rights was given to the Philippines citing the Syrian Civil War and security concerns in the Middle East in general. This was also the last Asian Championships that served as the qualifying round for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, as a qualifying window was used starting 2019. Incheon Samsan World Gymnasium is an indoor arena in Incheon, South Korea. It has hosted numerous international tournaments such as the 2014 Incheon World Wheelchair Basketball Championship, 2014 World Wheelchair Basketball Championship and the Basketball at the 2014 Asian Games, basketball events at the 2014 Asian Games. The complex includes a convention center adjacent to the indoor arena.
