2013 Columbia Lions Baseball Team
The 2013 Columbia Lions baseball team represents Columbia University in the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Lions play their home games at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium at the northern tip of Manhattan in New York, New York. The team is coached by Brett Boretti, leading his eighth season at Columbia. The Lions won the Lou Gehrig Division, then swept in the 2013 Ivy League Baseball Championship Series to claim the Lions' 11th Ivy League crown, and first since 2008. Brett Boretti
Brett Boretti (born December 14, 1971) is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Columbia Lions baseball, Columbia since the start of the 2006 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2006 season. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Division III (NCAA), Division III Franklin & Marshall Diplomats, Franklin & Marshall from 2001 to 2005. As a head coach, Boretti has led teams to four NCAA tournaments, three of them in Division I (NCAA), Division I. Playing career Boretti attended Davidson College, where he graduated from in 1994. He played Davidson Wildcats baseball, football during his freshman year and Davidson Wildcats baseball, baseball for all four years. A catcher, he was named First-Team All-Southern Conference as both a junior and a senior. Murray Stadium
Murray Stadium is a baseball venue in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. It is home to the Brown Bears baseball team of the NCAA Division I Ivy League. Description and history Opened in 1959, Brown's baseball stadium has a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Features include dugouts, bullpens, batting cages, and a press box. On May 5, 2007, the stadium hosted Brown's first ever Ivy League Baseball Championship, a 1–0, 20–6 doubleheader win over Penn. The game was played in front of over 1,500 spectators. George H.W. Bush Field (commonly known as Bush Field, originally Yale Field) is a stadium in West Haven, Connecticut, just across the city line with New Haven, Connecticut. Bainton Field
Bainton Field is a baseball stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. It is the home field of the Rutgers-New Brunswick, Rutgers University Scarlet Knights college baseball team. The stadium holds 1,500 spectators. History Baseball at Rutgers has the distinction of being the first intercollegiate athletic event to be held at the university. The game was played on May 2, 1866 against Princeton University, Princeton in which Rutgers lost 40–2. The original name of the facility was the "Class of 1953 Complex - Gruninger Baseball Complex"; however, in 2007, the stadium was renamed in honor of Ron Bainton, an alumnus who graduated from Rutgers in 1962. Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field is home field for the Miami Hurricanes baseball team at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
