The 2013 Calgary Stampeders season was the 56th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 79th overall. The Stampeders attempted to win their 7th Grey Cup championship, but fell in the West Final to the eventual champion Saskatchewan Roughriders. Canadian Football League West Division
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division (CFL), East Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the West Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Regina Rams
The Regina Rams represent the University of Regina, located in Regina, Saskatchewan in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The Rams joined U Sports in 1999 and have competed in the Canada West Conference since then. The program has won one U Sports football conference championship, in 2000, and the team has made one appearance in the Vanier Cup championship game. The Rams nickname is used by the university's football team only; all of the other teams at the school are named the Regina Cougars. Club history The Regina Rams were formed in 1954 when two junior football teams, the Bombers and the Dales, merged into one football club. The Sports Network (TSN) is a Canadian English language sports specialty channel established by the Labatt Brewing Company in 1984 as part of the first group of Canadian specialty cable channels. 2013 BC Lions Season
The 2013 BC Lions season was the 56th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 60th overall. On September 27, the Lions defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to clinch a playoff spot for the 17th straight season, tying the mark for the third longest playoff streak in CFL history. The Lions finished the season in third place in the West Division with an 11–7 record, but lost to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West Semi-Final. BC Lions
The BC Lions are a professional Canadian football team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Lions compete in the West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and play their home games at BC Place. The Lions played their first season in 1954, and have played every season since, making them the oldest professional sports franchise in British Columbia. They have appeared in the league's Grey Cup championship game 10 times, winning six, with their most recent championship occurring in 2011. Concordia Stingers
The Concordia Stingers are the athletic teams that represent Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They compete with other schools in Canadian Interuniversity Sport, and more specifically in Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ; French for "Quebec Student Sports Network"). Punter (football)
A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football instead of punting. Skills and usage The purpose of the punt is to force the team that is receiving the kick to start as far as possible from the kicking team's end zone. Western Ontario Mustangs
The Western Mustangs are the athletic teams that represent Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. The school's athletic program supports 46 varsity teams. Their mascot is a Mustang named J.W. and the school colours are purple and white. The university's varsity teams compete in the Ontario University Athletics conference and the national U Sports organization. Shane Bergman
Shane Bergman (born February 9, 1990) is a retired Canadian football offensive lineman who played in seven seasons for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a two-time Grey Cup champion having won in 2014 and 2018 and was a CFL-All Star in 2019. Saskatchewan Huskies Football
The Saskatchewan Huskies football team represents the University of Saskatchewan in U Sports football that competes in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association conference of U Sports. The program has won the Vanier Cup national championship three times, in 1990, 1996 and 1998. The Huskies became only the second U Sports team to advance to three consecutive Vanier Cup games, after the Saint Mary's Huskies, but lost all three games from 2004-2006. The team has won the most Hardy Trophy titles in Canada West, having won a total of 21 times. The 2006 Huskies became only the third team to play in a Vanier Cup that their school was hosting, when the University of Saskatchewan hosted the 42nd Vanier Cup. Charlie Power (Canadian Football)
Charlie Power (born June 1, 1991) is a Canadian former professional football running back and fullback who played for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Early life Power played high school football as a linebacker for the Holy Trinity Academy Knights in Okotoks, Alberta from 2006 to 2008. He won the Knights' defensive player of the year award in each of his three seasons, and helped lead the Knights to the provincial semifinals in his senior year. College career From 2009 to 2011, Power played college football as a linebacker for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. In his final year as a linebacker, he achieved 16 tackles and a fumble recovery.
