2013 Boodles Challenge
The 2013 Boodles Challenge was an exhibition tennis tournament held before Wimbledon to serve as a warm-up to players. Taking place from 18 to 22 June 2013 at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire, it was the 12th edition of the Boodles Challenge. Viktor Troicki won the title, defeating Robin Haase 7-5, 6-4 in a thrilling encounter. Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov delighted the crowd with a strip-tease during their exhibition match on the third day. Stoke Poges
Stoke Poges () is a village and civil parish in south-east Buckinghamshire, England. It is centred north-north-east of Slough, its post town, and southeast of Farnham Common. Etymology In the name Stoke Poges, ''stoke'' means " stockaded (place)" that is staked with more than just boundary-marking stakes. In the 1086 ''Domesday Book'', the village was recorded as ''Stoche''. William Fitz-Ansculf, who held the manor in 1086 (in the grounds of which the Norman parish church was built), later became known as William Stoches or William of Stoke. Amicia of Stoke, heiress to the manor, married Robert Pogeys, Knight of the Shire 200 years later, and the village eventually became known as Stoke Poges. Boodles Challenge
The Boodles Tennis Challenge (former Boodle and Dunthorne Champions Challenge) is an international five-day tennis exhibition held at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire, England. In coordination with Boodles, a luxury jeweler, it was initially founded by veteran sports agent Patricio Apey as an event to help players hone their grass court skills in the lead-up to Wimbledon. It is played in a style similar to the AAMI Classic, giving the players at least three matches each and allowing non-competition players to appear in one match per day. Over recent years Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Tim Henman, Marat Safin, James Blake, Andy Roddick, Fernando González, David Nalbandian, Novak Djokovic, Fernando Verdasco, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Andy Murray have all appeared. Thiemo Carsten Jannick de Bakker (born 19 September 1988) is a Dutch professional tennis player. Robin Haase (; born 6 April 1987) is a Dutch professional tennis player. Viktor Troicki ( sr-Cyrl, Виктор Троицки, ; born 10 February 1986) is a Serbian former professional tennis player. He won his first ATP singles title at the 2010 Kremlin Cup, and his second and third ATP singles titles at the 2015 and 2016 Apia International Sydney. His biggest achievements were a career-high singles ranking of world No. 12 (achieved in June 2011) and winning the deciding rubber in Serbia's Davis Cup final against France in 2010.
