2013 Acropolis Rally
The 2013 Acropolis Rally was the sixth round of the 2013 World Rally Championship season. The event was based in Loutraki, Corinthia, and started on 31 May and was concluded on 2 June after fourteen special stages, totaling 306 competitive kilometres. Report Jari-Matti Latvala took his first win of the 2013 season, and his first win for Volkswagen on the Acropolis Rally. The opening forty-seven kilometre stage proved to be difficult, claiming three high-profile victims in Sébastien Ogier, Mads Østberg and Mikko Hirvonen in short order, and Evgeny Novikov emerged as the surprise early leader, building up a thirty-second advantage at the end of the first leg. The Russian's lead was short-lived, as he developed a puncture early in the second leg and was forced to limp back to the service park. Sébastien Ogier (born 17 December 1983) is a French rally driver, competing for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team in the World Rally Championship (WRC), who is teamed with the co-driver Julien Ingrassia. He has won the World Rally Drivers' Championship 8 times, in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, & 2021. Achieving 55 victories in the World Rally Championship and 8 titles (6 consecutive, 2013–2018), he is the 2nd most successful WRC driver, after former Citroën WRC teammate Sébastien Loeb (9 titles). Andreas Mikkelsen
Andreas Mikkelsen (born 22 June 1989) is a Norwegian rally driver. He is currently competing in the World Rally Championship-2 for Toksport World Rally Team. He previously drove for the factory teams of Volkswagen, Citroën and Hyundai in the World Rally Championship, finishing third in the drivers' standings in 2014, 2015 and 2016. His current co-driver is Torstein Eriksen. He is a two-time Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion, having finished first in 2011 and 2012. The Ford Fiesta RS WRC is the World Rally Car built for the Ford World Rally Team by Ford Europe and M-Sport for use in the World Rally Championship 2011–2016. It is based upon the Ford Fiesta road car, and replaced the Ford Focus RS WRC, which competed in various versions since 1999. It is also built to the new World Rally Car regulations for 2011, which are based upon the existing Super 2000 regulations, but is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine (1.6 L turbo Ford EcoBoost engine) rather than the normally aspirated 2-litre engine found in Super 2000 cars. Jipocar Czech National Team is a Czech motor racing team, which runs the WRC campaign of Martin Prokop. The team debuted in 2010 and will appear as fully eligible to score WRC manufacturer points team from 2013 Rally Sweden. The origins of the team can be traced back to the years when Prokop was racing in the support WRC series – Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) and Production World Rally Championship (PWRC). The team appeared as Czech Ford National Team in 2010. The team and Prokop raced in SWRC with Ford Fiesta S2000. For 2011 the team switched to Ford Fiesta RS WRC, but they were not eligible for scoring manufacturer points as they were not registered as manufacturer or WRC team. The trend was kept in 2012.
