2012–13 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers men's basketball team represented Western Kentucky University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hilltoppers were led by head coach Ray Harper which was his first full year after coaching the final 19 games in 2011–12. They played their home games at E. A. Diddle Arena and were members of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 20–16, 10–10 in Sun Belt play to finish in fourth place in the East Division. They were champions of the Sun Belt tournament, winning the championship game over FIU, to earn an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to Kansas. T. J. Ray Harper (basketball)
Lilburn Ray Harper Jr. (born October 11, 1961) is an American college basketball coach, currently head coach for Jacksonville State University. Previously, he was head coach at Oklahoma City University, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and Western Kentucky University. At Kentucky Wesleyan Harper compiled a 242–45 win–loss record. He has been named the Division II National Coach of the Year seven times and won two national titles at Kentucky Wesleyan in 1999 and 2001. Harper was named interim head coach at Western Kentucky on January 6, 2012 after Ken McDonald was fired. He was named permanent head coach on February 19, 2012 by then-athletic director Ross Bjork. He resigned from the position on March 17, 2016 following the permanent suspension of three of his players. The 2012–13 Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team represented the University of Iowa in the 2012-13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, 2012–13 college basketball season. The team was led by 3rd year head coach Fran McCaffery and new recruiting and scouting addition, Brad Denning (Iowa native)to help with player relations, assist athletes on campus visits. The Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball played their home games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, which has been their home since 1983. They were members of the Big Ten Conference. The 2012–13 Western Carolina Catamounts men's basketball team represented Western Carolina University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Catamounts, led by eighth year head coach Larry Hunter, played their home games at the Ramsey Center and were members of the North Division of the Southern Conference. Cancún Challenge
The Cancun Challenge ( es, Desafío Cancún) is a college basketball tournament organized by Triple Crown Sports which currently features eight NCAA Division I men's basketball teams and ten women's basketball teams. The formats of the men's and women's tournaments have varied from year to year. The men's tournament currently splits the eight teams into two divisions of four and consists of games played in the United States at participants' campus sites followed by a bracketed tournament played in (or near) Cancún, Mexico. The women's tournament splits the ten teams into one division of six and one division of four and each features round-robin play in Cancún with no bracket, and therefore no champion. Reed Green Coliseum is an 8,095-seat multi-purpose arena in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, United States. Affectionately referred to by fans and local sportswriters as "The Yurt", it opened on December 6, 1965, and is home to the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) men's basketball team, women's basketball team and women's volleyball team. The 2012–13 Southern Miss Golden Eagles men's basketball team represented the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Eagles, led by first year head coach Donnie Tyndall, played their home games at Reed Green Coliseum and were members of Conference USA. Kentucky Wesleyan College (KWC) is a private Methodist college in Owensboro, Kentucky. The college is known for its liberal arts programs. Fall 2018 enrollment was 830 students. History Kentucky Wesleyan College was founded in 1858 by the Kentucky Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. It was originally located in Millersburg. Campbellsville University (CU) is a private Christian university in Campbellsville, Kentucky. It was founded as Russell Creek Academy and enrolls more than 12,000 students.
