2012–13 Luxembourg National Division
The 2012–13 Luxembourg National Division was the 99th season of top-tier football in Luxembourg. It began on 5 August 2012 and ended on 25 May 2013. F91 Dudelange were the defending champions having won their tenth league championship in the previous season. Team changes from 2011–12 US Rumelange and US Hostert were relegated to the Division of Honour after finishing 13th and 14th in the previous season. Both clubs were relegated after one year in the top flight. They were replaced by 2011–12 Division of Honour champions Jeunesse Canach and runners-up Etzella Ettelbruck. Both clubs return to the top flight after a one-year absence. Hesperange as 12th-placed team had to compete in a single play-off match against third-placed Division of Honour side Wiltz. Luxembourg National Division
The National Division ( lb, Nationaldivisioun, french: Division Nationale, german: Nationaldivision) is the highest football league in Luxembourg. Until 2011, it was known as the BGL Ligue, after the Luxembourg Football Federation managed to seal a sponsorship deal with Fortis. Before 2006, it contained twelve teams, but it expanded to fourteen for the 2006–07 season. Following the abandonment of the previous season, the 2020–21 season saw the further expansion of the league to 16 teams. Football Club Progrès Niederkorn is a football club based in Niederkorn, in south-western Luxembourg. History During the German occupation of Luxembourg, the club played in the Gauliga Moselland under the name of FK Niederkorn, where it finished runners-up in 1942–43, behind champions TuS Neuendorf. Club Sportif Grevenmacher is a football club, based in Grevenmacher, in eastern Luxembourg. History The club was founded in 1909 as '' 'Stade Mosellan' ''. The current name of the club, '' 'CS Grevenmacher' '', was adopted in 1919. During the Nazi occupation of the Second World War, the club was renamed '' 'FK Grevenmacher' '', as part of Gauleiter Gustav Simon's policy of Germanisation.
