2012–13 Karlsruher SC Season
The 2012–13 Karlsruher SC season is the 61st season in the club's football history. In 2012–13 the club plays in the 3. Liga, the third tier of German football. It is the club's first-ever season in this league, having been relegated from the 2. Fußball-Bundesliga in 2012. The club also took part in the 2012–13 edition of the DFB-Pokal, the German Cup, where it reached the second round and will face 2. Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg next. The club had knocked out Bundesliga club Hamburger SV in the first round with a 4–2 victory. Karlsruher SC also takes part in the 2012–13 edition of the North Baden Cup, having reached the second round against 1. FC Bruchsal after a 2–0 win over SpVgg Neckarelz in the first round. Karlsruher SC
Karlsruher SC is a German association football club, based in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg that currently plays in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football. Domestically, the club was crowned German champion in 1909, and won the DFB-Pokal in 1955 and 1956. In Europe, KSC won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1996, which remains the club's last major honor. Formed as Karlsruher Fussball Club Phönix in 1894, the modern form of the club was formed as the result of several mergers in 1952, and its early success granted KSC a spot in the inaugural Bundesliga season in 1963. KSC spent the next few decades as a yo-yo club frequently being promoted and relegated between the top two divisions, with their best Bundesliga season coming in 1996 when KSC finished 6th in the table. Frank Willenborg
Frank Willenborg (born 10 February 1979) is a German football referee who is based in Osnabrück. He referees for SV Gehlenberg of the Lower Saxony Football Association. Refereeing career Willenborg, who referees for SV Gehlenberg, has been a DFB official since 2004. In 2007, he was appointed as a 2. Bundesliga referee. Nico Kanitz (born 13 May 1980) is a German footballer who plays as a left-back for VfB IMO Merseburg. Career Kanitz joined Hallescher FC in 2007, then in the NOFV-Oberliga Süd, having previously played for VfB Leipzig, Sachsen Leipzig, Chemnitzer FC and Stuttgarter Kickers. Hallescher FC, sometimes still called by its former popular name Chemie Halle, is a German association football club based in Halle an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt. The club currently plays in the 3. Liga, the third highest level in the German football league system. For many years, Halle had been in East Germany's highest league, the DDR-Oberliga, up-until the German reunification. However, like many other teams from the former East, it then suffered the effects of economic and demographic decline in the region in the 1990s and fell down to amateur leagues.
