2012–13 FC Kuban Krasnodar Season
The 2012–13 FC Kuban Krasnodar season was the second successive season that the club played in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of football in Russia. They also participated in the 2012–13 Russian Cup, being knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Zenit St. Petersburg on penalties after a 0–0 draw. They started the season with Dan Petrescu as manager; however, he resigned on 14 August 2012 to take over as Dynamo Moscow manager. He was replaced by Yuri Krasnozhan, who himself was fired on 9 January 2013, after five months in charge due to irreconcilable differences with the owners. FC Kuban (russian: link=no, Футбольный клуб "Кубань" Краснодар) was a Russian football club based in Krasnodar. The team began playing in the Russian Premier League in 2011, after it was promoted for winning the Russian First Division. FC Kuban was one of the oldest football clubs in Russia. Founded as Dynamo of the Krasnodar NKVD, FC Kuban changed its affiliations because of changing politics in the USSR. Club members and fans were called "Kubantsy" () (because of its Kuban, location) or "yellow-greens" (the club colours). The team was also known as the "Cossacks" by fans. Other nicknames associated with the club colours were "The Canaries" (analogous to the similar colours of the French FC Nantes, the English Norwich City F.C.) and "The Toads" (primarily by opponents and the Kuban Ultras). FC Dynamo Moscow (''FC Dynamo Moskva'', russian: Дина́мо Москва́ ) is a Russian football club based in Moscow. Dynamo returned to the Russian Premier League for the 2017–18 season after one season in the second-tier Russian Football National League. Dynamo was the only club that had always played in the top tier of Soviet football (along with Dynamo Kyiv) and of Russian football from the end of the Soviet era until they were relegated in 2016. Gheorghe "Gigel" Bucur (born 8 April 1980, in Bucharest) is a former Romanian football player. He is a short and speedy forward.
