The 2012–13 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 was the forty-ninth edition of the Algerian second division since its establishment, and its third season of the league under its current title. A total of 16 teams contested the league. The league started September 14, 2012, and concluded on May 3, 2013. CRB Aïn Fakroun were crowned champions and promoted to the 2013–14 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 along with RC Arbaâ and MO Béjaïa. At the bottom of the table, MO Constantine, SA Mohammadia and CR Témouchent were relegated. Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The Algerian Ligue 2, also called Ligue 2 , formerly known as Ligue Professionnelle 2 and Championnat National 2, is the second highest division overall in the Algerian football league system. It was professional from 2010 to 2020. History The league was created in 1962, when Algeria became an independent nation, and has been played in a number of different formats. In 2010, the league became fully professional. Prior to the start of the 2010 season, the name of the league was changed to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 to reflect the professionalization of the league. On 15 December 2011, six clubs from the league were sanctioned by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) for not responding to their set deadline (7 December 2011) in solving the disputes between their players. Olympique de Médéa ( ar, أولمبي المدية), also known as 'O Médéa or simply OM for short, is an Algerian football club based in Médéa. The club was founded in 1945 and its colours are orange and blue. Their home stadium, Stade Imam Lyes de Médéa, has a capacity of 12,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Algerian Ligue 2. History In 1995, the club reached the final of the Algerian Cup for the first time in their history. They opened the scoring in the 45th minute through Kamel Djahmoune but went on to lose the game 2–1. In 1996, the team had participated in the seventh Arab Cup Winners' Cup in Amman, Jordan. The 2011–12 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 was the 50th season of the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 since its establishment in 1962. A total of 16 teams contested the league, with ASO Chlef as the defending champions. The league started on 6 September 2011, and ended on 22 May 2012. While the league was originally scheduled to start on 10 September 2011, the official start date will be 6 September 2011, with a match between JS Kabylie and MC Alger. The tie was moved up due to the two club's participation in African competition.
