The 2012 Women's World Open Squash Championship is the women's edition of the 2012 World Open, which serves as the individual world championship for squash players. The event took place in Grand Cayman in Cayman Island from 16 to 21 December. Nicol David won her seventh World Open title, beating Laura Massaro in the final. Kasey Brown (born 1 August 1985) is a former professional squash player from Australia. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 5 in December 2011. Career Brown was born in Taree, New South Wales was the Australian junior champion in 2003 and 2004 and was then the senior champion in 2006 and in the same year also won the Australian Open title. Brown was coached by Rodney Martin and was based in Greenwich, Connecticut. During 2006, she won five WISPA events in Australia as well as the Central Open in New Zealand. Latasha Khan (born January 20, 1973 in Seattle) is a professional female squash player who has represented the United States in international competition. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 18 in January 2000. She started to play at the age of 9. She earned a team and individual gold medal at the 2003 Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Lauren Briggs (born 8 August 1979 in Stanford-Le-Hope) is a professional squash player who represents England. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 18 in December 2008. Omneya Abdel Kawy ( ar, أمنية عبد القوي; born 15 August 1985, in Cairo) is a former professional squash player from Egypt. Career Omneya crowned a successful junior career in 2003 in her home city of Cairo when she became the first Egyptian woman to win a world junior title having won the 2003 World Junior Championship; she had previously been the runner up to Nicol David in 1999 and 2001. Rachael Margaret Grinham (born 22 January 1977 in Toowoomba, Queensland) is an Australian professional squash player. She won the World Open in 2007, and the British Open in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2009. She reached the World No. 1 ranking in August 2004 and held it for 16 consecutive months.
