2012 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
The 2012 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational was a professional golf tournament held August 2–5 on the South Course of Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. It was the 14th WGC-Bridgestone Invitational tournament, and the third of four World Golf Championships events held in 2012. Keegan Bradley shot a 64 (−6) in the final round to finish with 267 (−13) to win his first WGC event, one stroke ahead of runners-up Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker. Venue Course layout The South Course was designed by Bert Way and redesigned by Robert Trent Jones in 1960. 2012 PGA Tour
The 2012 PGA Tour was the 45th season since the Tour became independent from the PGA of America. The season consisted of a total of 45 official money events running from early January to mid November. The schedule was announced on October 19, 2011, had four phases: * Regular season – Consisted of 37 events and started on January 5 with the limited-field Hyundai Tournament of Champions and ended with the Wyndham Championship on August 19. * FedEx Cup Playoffs – As in previous seasons, this was a series of four tournaments. It started with The Barclays on August 23 and ended with the Tour Championship on September 23. * Fall Series – After the Tour Championship, the principal portion of the season ended with a series of four tournaments. Bert Way
William Herbert "Bert" Way (23 August 1873 – 11 August 1963) was an English professional golfer and golf course designer. Way tied for second place in the 1899 U.S. Open, held 14–15 September 1899, at Baltimore Country Club in Baltimore, Maryland. Way designed a number of golf courses, the best known being the South Course at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. Early life Way was born in Bideford, Devon, England, to Richard Way (1839–1923) and Frances Mary Way née Henderson (1844–1926). He had four brothers and two sisters. Way was Willie Dunn, Jr.'s apprentice at North Devon and when Dunn left Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Dunn recommended Way as his replacement. Kim Kyung-tae
Kim Kyung-tae ( ko, 김경태; born 2 September 1986), also known as K.T. Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the Asian and Japan Golf Tours. Career He won several tournaments as an amateur, including the 2006 Japan Amateur Championship and two events on the 2006 Korean Tour. He turned professional in late 2006 and won the 2007 Maekyung Open in his second start on the Asian Tour. Matthew Gregory Kuchar (born June 21, 1978) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and formerly the Nationwide Tour. He has won nine times on the PGA Tour. Dustin Hunter Johnson (born June 22, 1984) is an American professional golfer. , also known by the nickname , is a Japanese professional golfer. Amateur career On 20 May 2007, Ishikawa became the youngest winner ever of a men's regular tournament on the Japan Golf Tour by winning the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup at the age 15 years and 8 months. He competed as an amateur and it was Ishikawa's first tour appearance. He finished one shot ahead of Japan's 9th top ranked player at the time, Katsumasa Miyamoto. Robert Allenby (born 12 July 1971) is an Australian professional golfer. Early years Allenby was born on 12 July 1971 in Melbourne, Victoria. His father had emigrated to Australia from Leeds, UK as a young man.
