Nürburgring Endurance Series
The Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS, German: ''Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie'') is an organisation of motorsport clubs of which each hosts one event of a nine-race series held on the Nürburgring, Nürburgring Nordschleife. Participants of NLS races range from amateurs in small road legal cars with rollcages and harnesses to professional factory teams racing Group GT3 cars. The NLS series is closely associated with the 24 Hours Nürburgring, as it has similar rules (mostly), and mainly the same participants. In the calendar, several weeks around the 24h date in May/June are taken off to allow teams to prepare for the 24h, and to fix their cars afterwards. The 24h is not part of the championship anymore, though. Marc Lieb
Marc Lieb (born 4 July 1980) is a former German Porsche factory motor-racing driver. He won the FIA GT Championship in 2003 and 2005, and the European Le Mans Series in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010. He won the 24 Hours Nürburgring four times, one time the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016, in the 2008 12 Hours of Sebring, in the 2003 24 hours of Spa and in the 2007 Petit Le Mans. He is also the 2016 FIA World Endurance Champion. Career Born in Stuttgart, Lieb started racing in karts in 1992. In 1995, he moved to cars, racing in the German Formula Renault 1800 championship. Norbert Siedler
Norbert Siedler (born 29 December 1982 in Wildschönau) is an Austrian racing driver. Career Siedler began his career in motorsport in karts. In 1992 he began at the age of ten years in the German Kartszene and in 1997, won the junior class. In 1999, he was an Austrian kart driver. In 2000, he moved into Formula Ford and won in Germany and Austria as well as the championship. In 2001 he drove in the German Formula Three Championship. For the team Palfinger he finished 4th place twice, including once at Hockenheim supporting the German Grand Prix. In 2002, he was sixth in the championship and finished the season with a victory in the last race at Hockenheim. This was followed by three years in the Italian Euro Formula 3000 Championship. Frank Biela
Frank Stanley Biela (born 2 August 1964 in Neuss) is a German auto racing driver, mainly competing in touring cars and sportscar racing. He has raced exclusively in cars manufactured by the Audi marque since 1990. Career Biela started his career in 1983 in karting before joining the Ford ''Youngster Team'' programme in 1987 alongside Manuel Reuter and Bernd Schneider. He drove for the team in Formula Ford and the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (the German touring car championship), where he won the race at AVUS in 1987. Biela continued to compete in the DTM in 1988, and also raced a limited season in German Formula Three, scoring two wins. Patrick Pilet (born October 8, 1981) is a French professional racing driver. He has competed in major sports car endurance races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of Daytona, 24 Hours of Spa, 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans. Born in Auch, Gers, Pilet won the Championnat de France Formula Renault 2.0 in 2004 and competed at the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup. Timo Bernhard
Timo Bernhard (born 24 February 1981) is a former driver from Germany. He was a sports car driver from Porsche, but was seconded to Audi for selected events in 2009 and 2010. He is a winner of the Triple Crown in endurance racing. On 29 June 2018, he became the first person in 35 years to break the all-time Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record, set by Stefan Bellof in 1983 with a Porsche 956, in a derestricted Porsche 919 Evo with a time of 5:19.546. Marc Basseng (born 12 December 1978 in Engelskirchen) is a German racing driver. Career Basseng began his career in karting. In 1997 he began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany for the UPS Porsche Junior Team, finishing third in the 1998 standings.
