2012 Tour Of Austria
The 2012 Tour of Austria (german: 2012 Internationale Österreich Rundfahrt) was the 64th edition of the Tour of Austria, an annual bicycle race. Departing from Innsbruck on July 1, it concluded in Vienna on July 8. The 1153.9 km-long stage race was part of the 2012 UCI Europe Tour, and was rated as a 2.HC event. The winner was the Dane Jakob Fuglsang of the squad. Teams 18 teams were invited to participate in the tour: 6 UCI ProTeams, 8 UCI Professional Continental Teams and 4 UCI Continental Teams. 2012 UCI Europe Tour
The 2012 UCI Europe Tour was the eighth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2012 season began on 29 January 2012 with the Grand Prix d'Ouverture La Marseillaise and ended on 21 October 2012 with the Chrono des Nations. Francesco Gavazzi (born 1 August 1984) is an Italian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career Gavazzi was born in Morbegno. In 2012, Gavazzi participated in the Tour of Beijing and won its queen stage leading to the Great Wall of China. To add to the difficulty of the day, the air quality was deemed as "severely polluted" by the local authorities. Gavazzi closed down an attack by 's Edvald Boasson Hagen and grabbed the victory. His consistent placings in the other stages netted him the second spot in the overall classification behind Tony Martin (). Danilo Di Luca
Danilo Di Luca (born 2 January 1976) is a former Italian professional road racing cyclist, best known for winning the 2007 Giro d'Italia, but also for several positive doping tests, the last of which resulting in a lifetime ban from the sport. Di Luca is also one of six riders to have won each of the three Ardennes classics; he won the Amstel Gold Race and La Flèche Wallonne in 2005, and Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2007. Kitzbüheler Horn
The Kitzbüheler Horn (also spelt Kitzbühler Horn) is a mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in Tyrol, Austria, whose western flank lies near the smart ski resort of Kitzbühel. With a height of it only just misses being a 'two-thousander'. At the summit is a 102 metre high TV tower belonging to the ORF and known as the Kitzbüheler Horn Transmission Tower (''Sendeturm Kitzbüheler Horn''). The ''Harschbichl'' (1,604 m) is a sub-peak to the north which is also accessible. Tourism The mountain has several cable cars and gondola lifts and there is a panoramic toll road from Kitzbühel.
