2012 Svenska Supercupen
Svenska Supercupen 2012, ''Swedish Super Cup 2012'', was the 6th Svenska Supercupen, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen competitions. The match was played at Olympia, Helsingborg, on 24 March 2012, and was contested by league winners Helsingborgs IF and runners-up AIK. AIK qualified for the cup as Allsvenskan runners-up since Helsingborg won both the league and Svenska Cupen in 2011. The match was Helsingborgs third appearance and AIKs second in Svenska Supercupen since its creation. Olympia hosted the final for the first time and the two clubs played against each other for the first time in the cup's history. The match was broadcast live on TV4 Sport, a channel belonging to the TV4 Group. FIFA listed Markus Strömbergsson from Gävle was the referee for the match for the third consecutive time. Svenska Supercupen, ''Swedish Super Cup'', was a one-off fixture in Football in Sweden, Swedish football played between the Allsvenskan champions and the winners of Svenska Cupen. The fixture was played in November, after the Allsvenskan season. In the event of a club winning the Double (association football), double (as AIK did in 2009 and Helsingborg in 2011) the runner up of the Allsvenskan would take part. In 2011 Svenska Supercupen, 2011, Helsingborgs IF became the first team to have won Svenska Supercupen and not being the defending Allsvenskan champions. The winner of Svenska Supercupen received a prize money of 250,000 Swedish krona, SEK. Rachid Bouaouzan (; born 20 February 1984) is a Dutch-Moroccan former professional footballer who played as a winger. Emil Henry Kristoffer Krafth (born 2 August 1994) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Premier League club Newcastle United and the Sweden national team. Daniel Lennart Andersson, (born 18 December 1972) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Alfreð Finnbogason (born 1 February 1989) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a forward for Danish Superliga club Lyngby Boldklub and the Iceland national team. May Mahlangu (born 1 May 1989) is a South African professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder. Club career Early career Mahlangu joined the Stars of Africa Academy at age 15 and played for their team Alexandra United FC.
