2012 Senior Bowl
The 2012 Senior Bowl was an all-star college football exhibition game featuring players from the 2011 college football season, and prospects for the 2012 Draft of the professional National Football League (NFL). The 63rd edition of the Senior Bowl was won by the North team, 23–13. The game was played on January 28, 2012, at 3 pm CST (4 p.m. Eastern time) at Ladd–Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, between "North" and "South" teams. This year's Senior Bowl concluded the 2011-12 post-season as the NFLPA's Texas vs The Nation game, which would have been played the following week, was canceled. The coaching staff of the Minnesota Vikings, led by head coach Leslie Frazier, coached the North team. Ladd–Peebles Stadium
Ladd–Peebles Stadium (formerly Ernest F. Ladd Memorial Stadium) is a stadium located in Mobile, Alabama. Opened in 1948, it has a seating capacity of 33,471. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field for the Senior Bowl, the LendingTree Bowl through the 2020 season, and the University of South Alabama Jaguars through the 2019 season. After the 2019 season, the Jaguars moved to the new on-campus Hancock Whitney Stadium. The 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the highest level of college football competition in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The regular season began on September 1, 2011 and ended on December 10, 2011. Audie Cole
Audie Raymond Cole (born June 1, 1989) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at NC State and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Early years Cole played as a quarterback, safety and linebacker at Monroe High School. He was a three-year starter at quarterback and also played defense as a senior. He threw for 3,285 yards and 23 touchdowns in his career and was named All-league as a senior after rushing for 10 touchdowns and throwing for more than 1,700 yards. Mike Brewster
Michael Brewster (born July 27, 1989) is a former American football center and current tight ends coach at Tennessee State. He played collegiality at the Ohio State University. Brewster was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2012. High school career Brewster attended Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida, where he played both sides of the ball, and was named All-State 6A in his senior season, 2007. Steven Anthony "Tony" Bergstrom (born August 6, 1986) is an American football center who is a free agent. He played college football at Utah, and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Texas vs The Nation was an American college football all-star bowl game played from 2007 to 2013. Originally played at the Sun Bowl Stadium, the format of the game pitted 50 top-rated college seniors who played college or high school football in Texas against a squad of 50 top-rated seniors from the other 49 states. In its first year, 73% of players who participated in the game were signed by National Football League (NFL) teams. In 2011, the game moved from El Paso to San Antonio, and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) became the named sponsor of the game. 2011–12 NCAA Football Bowl Games
The 2011–12 NCAA football bowl games were a series of college football bowl games. They concluded the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season, and included 35 team-competitive games and five all-star games. The games began on December 17, 2011 and, aside from the all-star games, concluded with the 2012 BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans, that was played on January 9, 2012. The total of 35 team-competitive bowls was unchanged from the previous year. While bowl games had been the purview of only the very best teams for nearly a century, this was the sixth consecutive year that teams with non-winning seasons participated in bowl games.
