2012 Scottish Youth Cup Final
The 2012 Scottish Youth Cup Final was the final match of the 2011–12 Scottish Youth Cup, the 28th season of the Scottish Youth Cup. It was played by the U19 sides of Celtic and Queen of the South. Route to the Final Celtic Celtic entered the competition in the Third Round where they came up against fellow SPL club Kilmarnock. Two early goals from Paul George and Callum McGregor set the tone for the match with a double from captain Jackson Irvine and a late strike from John Herron completing the scoring. Celtic then beat Dunfermline by the same scoreline in the fourth round of the cup. This time goals from Irvine, Atajic, Chalmers, Twardzik and Watt ensured their progression into the Quarter-Final stage where they came up against Aberdeen. 2011–12 Scottish Youth Cup
The 2011–12 Scottish Youth Cup was the 29th season of the Scottish Youth Cup, Scotland's national cup tournament at under-19 age level. The competition is administered by the Scottish Football Association and is open to all Senior clubs. Celtic won the tournament for a third successive season after defeating Queen of the South by a record 8–0 margin in the final. Joseph Chalmers (born 3 January 1994) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a left-back or midfielder for Dunfermline Athletic. Darnell Theophilous Fisher (born 4 April 1994) is an English former professional footballer who played as a right-back. Robert Scott Thomson (born 7 March 1993) is a Scottish footballer, who plays as a goalkeeper for Raith Rovers. He has previously played for Celtic, Stenhousemuir, Airdrie United, Rochdale, Cowdenbeath, Queen of the South, Hamilton Academical and Falkirk. John Herron (born 1 February 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Gibraltar Football League side Manchester 62. Career Celtic Herron joined Celtic as a youth player aged 8. Whilst a member of the club's development squad Herron aged 18 made his first team debut for Celtic on 22 December 2012, coming on as an 83rd-minute substitute in a Scottish Premier League match against Ross County, replacing Georgios Samaras in a 4–0 win.
