2012 PLFA Season
The 2012 season of the Polish American Football League was the seventh season played by the american football leagues in Poland. In 2012, the Topliga was created as a major league with a bid (invitation) rule. Remaining teams was divided into two leagues (PLFA I and PLFA II) between which there is promotion and relegation. Both, PLFA I and PLFA II, was divided into two divisions, for the geographical reason. Regular season of the Topliga took place between March 24 and June 17, 2012. The Polish champion was determined in the play-off final - the VII SuperFinal PLFA (known as the Polish Bowl VII). The Seahawks Gdynia beat the Warsaw Eagles in the championship game 52–37 hosted at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Polish American Football League
The Polish American Football League or shortly PLFA ( pl, Polska Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego) was a structured system for the American football competitions in Poland founded in 2004 by the Polish federation PZFA. In 2012, the Topliga was created as a major league with a bid (invitation) rule. The remaining teams are divided into two leagues (PLFA I and PLFA II) between which there was promotion and relegation. There were two eight-man football competitions: PLFA 8 for reserve teams and smaller clubs, and PLFA J for under-17 players. The top four teams from the Topliga regular season entered the playoffs and the winners met in the championship game called the SuperFinał (more commonly known as the ''Polish Bowl''). The PLFA I championship game was called the PLFA Cup Game. Husaria Szczecin
The Polish hussars (; pl, husaria ), alternatively known as the winged hussars, were a heavy cavalry formation active in Poland and in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth from 1503 to 1702. Their epithet is derived from large rear wings, which were intended to demoralize the enemy during charge. The hussars ranked as the elite of Polish cavalry until their official disbanding in 1776. The hussar dress was ostentatious and comprised plated body armour (cuirass, spaulders, bevors, and arm bracers) adorned by gold ornaments, a burgonet or lobster-tailed pot helmet and jackboots as well as versatile weaponry such as lances, koncerz, sabres, backswords, pistols, maces, and hatchets. Tychy (Polish pronunciation: ; german: Tichau; szl, Tychy) is a city in Silesia in southern Poland, approximately south of Katowice.
