2012 MLS Re-Entry Draft
The two-stage 2012 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 7, 2012 (Stage 1) and December 14, 2012 (Stage 2). All 19 Major League Soccer clubs were eligible to participate. The Stage 1 and Stage 2 Drafts were conducted in the same order as the traditional Waiver Draft, with clubs choosing in reverse order of their 2012 Major League Soccer season finish. MLS Re-Entry Draft
The MLS Re-Entry Draft is an annual event in which Major League Soccer teams select players who are out of contract or have had their options declined by their current teams. Although the single-entity league does not have true free agency, the re-entry draft was created to provide an outlet of internal movement for veteran players. History The Re-Entry Draft was created by the collective bargaining agreement reached in March 2010. Under the previous rules, clubs could hold what amounted to a 48-hour first right of refusal on players whose contracts had expired or did not have the options picked up. This was a significant obstacle to a new agreement during negotiations during the 2009-10 MLS offseason. The Columbus Crew, formerly known as Columbus Crew SC, is an American professional soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio. The Crew competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the league's Eastern Conference and began play in 1996 as one of the 10 charter clubs of the league. Scott Palguta
Scott Thomas Palguta (born August 23, 1982) was named the head men's soccer coach at Colorado College on February 6, 2015. He is a former American soccer player who most recently played for Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer. Career Youth and college Born in Toms River, New Jersey, Palguta graduated from Monsignor Donovan High School in 2001 where he lettered for four years in soccer, basketball (shooting guard 17ppg) and track (miler and hurdler). In his senior year, he was named the team MVP in all three sports and was awarded the NJSIAA Scholar-Athlete Award. Palguta graduated ninth in his class and was highly recruited by several NCAA soccer programs. Joseph Nane
Joseph Nane Fils Eone (born March 12, 1987 in Yaoundé) is a Cameroonian footballer, who plays for Oakland Roots in the USL Championship. Career College and Amateur Joseph attended the Catholic University of Cameroon prior to coming to the United States to play college soccer at Old Dominion University in 2006. He was a Second Team All-CAA selection in his junior year in 2008. During his college years he also played with the Hampton Roads Piranhas in the USL Premier Development League. Tyrone Everton Marshall (born 12 November 1974) is a retired Jamaican footballer and current head coach of FC Cincinnati 2, the reserve team of Major League Soccer's FC Cincinnati. Career Youth and College Marshall moved to the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area when he was twelve years old. He attended Lindsey Wilson College from 1994 to 1995 before transferring to Florida International University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1996 to 1997. Ian Francis Joyce (born July 12, 1985) is an American soccer player who most recently played for Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids. Career Born in Kinnelon, New Jersey, Joyce played high school soccer at Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey. Joyce made his debut for Southend United away to Crewe Alexandra, in the 4–3 win in League One on September 20, 2008. The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league. Hunter Freeman (born January 8, 1985 in Tyler, Texas) is a retired American soccer player who currently is the director of domestic scouting for FC Cincinnati Career College and amateur As a teenager, Freeman trained in residency at the United States Soccer Federation's Bradenton Academy with the United States Under-17 national team. Upon graduating, he attended the University of Virginia, where he played college soccer from 2002 to 2004. Conor Patrick Casey (born July 25, 1981) is an American former soccer player. He played for 16 seasons, finishing his career with Columbus Crew SC, before turning to coaching with his former club Colorado Rapids.
