2012 Kagame Interclub Cup
The 2012 Kagame Interclub Cup was the 37th edition of the Kagame Interclub Cup, which is organised by CECAFA. It began on 14 July and ended on 28 July 2012. Tanzania hosted the tournament for their eleventh time since it officially began in 1974, when they were also hosts. The tournament made Wau Salaam the first South Sudanese club to take part in an international club tournament. Defending champions Young Africans picked up their fifth title of the competition after beating fellow Tanzanians Azam in the final. Broadcasting SuperSport secured official rights to broadcast all games played in the tournament. They used their SS9 (SuperSport 9) and SS9E (SuperSport 9 East) channels. Participants On 29 June 2012, the draw for clubs to participate in the tournament was released. Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium
Tanzania National Main Stadium also known as Benjamin Mkapa Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Miburani ward of Temeke District in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It opened in 2007 and was built adjacent to Uhuru Stadium, the former national stadium. It hosts major football matches such as the Tanzanian Premier League and home matches of the Tanzania national football team. With 60,000 seats it is the eleventh largest stadium in Africa and the largest stadium in Tanzania. It is owned by the Tanzanian Government. The stadium was built by Beijing Construction Engineering Group at a cost of $56 million. The ''Daily News'' is an English-language newspaper in Tanzania, the second-largest economy in the East African Community. History The ''Daily News'' was the result of a forced merger of two papers. Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club is a Ugandan football team based in Kampala. The club plays in the Ugandan Premier League and was founded in 1997. They have won the Ugandan Premier League four times and the Uganda Cup three times. History URA merged with Lyantonde FC in 2001. URA had been excluded from the Western League. Lyantonde, cup finalists in 2000, did not raise enough money to continue playing in the Buganda Super mini-league.
