2012 KPT Challenge Cup
The 2012 National Football Challenge Cup was the 22nd edition of National Football Challenge Cup, the domestic cup competition in Pakistani football. The edition was sponsored by Karachi Port Trust, therefore, it was also known as the 2012 KPT Challenge Cup. The tournament was held in Karachi, with KPT Stadium and People's Football Stadium having two matches played simultaneously. Khan Research Laboratories were the defending champions, having won their third title the previous year after defeating National Bank 1–0 in the finals. Khan Research Laboratories won the title after defeating Karachi Electric Supply Corporation 3–1 on penalties the after game ended 0–0 after extra-time. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. Arif Mehmood
Arif Mehmood (born June 21, 1983) is a Pakistani former footballer who played as a striker. He has been the top-scorer in the Pakistan Premier League five times, leading the charts in 2004–05, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2009–10 and 2010–11. Early life Mehmood was born on 21 June 1983 in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. He completed his studies from Government Comprehensive Boys High School and graduated in engineering from Government Technology College. Club career Mehmood started his career with the amateur team Young Gulshan Multan, from where WAPDA scouted him and selected him in their youth team in 1998. Muhammad Ahmed ( ur, ; born 3 January 1988) is a Pakistanis, Pakistani Association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, centre back for Pakistan Premier League club Huma FC. Club career Ahmed played for Khan Research Laboratories F.C., KRL until eventually moving to WAPDA F.C., WAPDA in 2010. In 2014, Ahmed joined Bahrain second division club Isa Town on a one-year deal. Ahmed returned to KRL in 2015. His goal in the final of the 2016 Pakistan Football Federation Cup against NBP F.C., NBP helped KRL retain their title. Ahmed returned to WAPDA in 2017.
