2012 Iowa State Cyclones Football Team
The 2012 Iowa State Cyclones football team represented Iowa State University in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cyclones were led by fourth-year head coach Paul Rhoads and played their home games at Jack Trice Stadium. They were a member of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 6–7, 3–6 in Big 12 play, to finish in ninth place. They were invited to the Liberty Bowl, where they lost to Tulsa, whom they had defeated in the opening game of the season. Paul Rhoads
Paul Robert Rhoads (born February 2, 1967) is an American college football coach. He is currently an analyst at Ohio State. A long-time major conference assistant coach and head coach, he is best-known for his seven-year tenure as head coach at Iowa State. Rhoads played defensive back at Missouri Western State University. Playing career Rhoads was a prep special mention all-state free safety and valedictorian of his high school class at Ankeny, Iowa before lettering for three-years at Missouri Western State University from 1986 to 1988, where he played defensive back alongside Leland Williams. He graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in economics and was the recipient of the Chris Faros Scholarship, honoring the program's top senior student-athlete. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. Curtis Sidney Bray (May 9, 1970 – January 15, 2014) was an American football coach. He was a coach for Duquesne University, Western Kentucky University, Villanova University, the University of Pittsburgh, Temple University and Iowa State University.
