2012 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic
The 2012 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic was held from September 28 to October 1 at the Tartan Curling Club in Regina, Saskatchewan as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. Lana Vey
Lana Vey (born April 6, 1984, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. Vey had no prior national championship experience when she was picked up to play third for Jan Betker for the 2006–07 season to replace Joan McCusker. However, the team had quite a successful season, going all the way to the 2007 Scotties Tournament of Hearts final, but losing to Kelly Scott's rink in the final. After the season, Vey was picked up to play lead for the Stefanie Lawton rink. She would find success on that team as well. While they failed to win the provincial championship that year, they did qualify for the 2008 Canada Cup of Curling, which they won. The following season, the Lawton rink did win the provincial championship, and finished in fourth place at the 2009 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Victoria, British Columbia. Jason Jacobson
Jason Jacobson (born June 8, 1977) is a Canadian curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Career Jacobson won the 2009 Saskatchewan provincial mixed championship playing second on a team skipped by Darrell McKee. The team represented Saskatchewan at the 2009 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, where they finished third. After finishing 9-2 in the round robin, they would lose in the semi-final to Ontario. Jacobson is a long-time competitor on the World Curling Tour. He played in his first Grand Slam event playing third for the Jeff Sharp rink at the 2003 Players' Championship, where they would lose all of their matches. The next season Jacobson joined the Brad Heidt rink at third. The team played in two Grand Slams in the 2003-04 season. They failed to make the playoffs at the 2003 Canadian Open but did much better at the 2004 Players' Championship, placing in 4th place after losing in a rare 3rd place game. Kerrobert, Saskatchewan
Kerrobert is a town in west central Saskatchewan. It has a population of 970 (2021) Kerrobert is served by Highway 21, Highway 31 and Highway 51 as well as the Canadian Pacific Railway. It is approximately east of the Saskatchewan/Alberta border and west of Saskatoon. The town is known for its large water tower, clearly visible from away. Dustin Kidby
Dustin "Deuce" Kidby (born May 26, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. He most recently threw lead rocks for Team Matt Dunstone. Career Juniors Kidby represented Saskatchewan at two Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The first was the 2002 Canadian Juniors, playing lead for Team Kyle George. They finished the event with a 7-5 record. George won the Canadian Juniors in 2005 (without Kidby), but invited him to be the alternate for Team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Curling Championships. The team won the gold medal at the event, and Kidby would play in two matches. Kidby returned to the Canadian Juniors in 2006, playing lead for Team Mitch Heidt. This team also finished with a 7-5 record. In university, Kidby played second for the University of Regina, on a team skipped by Byron Moffatt.
