The 2012 Everett Raptors season was the team's third season as a professional indoor football franchise and third in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Comcast Arena At Everett
Angel of the Winds Arena (originally known as Everett Events Center) is a multi-purpose complex in Everett, Washington, United States, designed and developed by the Everett Public Facilities District. It opened in October 2003, with the naming rights being sold to Comcast in 2007 and subsequently to Angel of the Winds Casino Resort in 2017. The 10,000-seat venue has hosted a variety of concerts and other performances, including the Ringling Brothers Circus, Disney on Ice, the Harlem Globetrotters, and Sesame Street Live. 2012 Colorado Ice Season
The 2012 Colorado Ice season was the team's sixth season as a football franchise and fourth in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Founded for the 2007 season as part of United Indoor Football, the Colorado Ice became charter members of the IFL when the UIF merged with the Intense Football League before the 2009 season. One of 16 teams that competed in the IFL for the 2012 season, the Fort Collins-based Colorado Ice were members of the Intense Conference. In their first season under head coach Heron O'Neal, the Colorado Ice played their home games at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado. The team recorded an 8–6 record and reached the playoffs for the second season in a row. Two Ice players were named to All-IFL Teams: Aric Goodman was selected First Team for special teams and offensive lineman while Mike Trice was selected Second Team All IFL for offense. 2012 Indoor Football League Season
The 2012 Indoor Football League season was the fourth season of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The league lost nine of its previous teams but gained three new teams. The three new teams were the Cedar Rapids Titans, New Mexico Stars and the Everett Raptors. The season kicked off on February 19, 2012, when the Chicago Slaughter beat the Bloomington Edge 50–34. For the 2012 season, the IFL switched to a two-conference format with no divisions, due, in large part, to the loss of all the Texas-based teams (except the Allen Wranglers) to the newly formed Lone Star Football League. The Wranglers brought attention to the league for offering a US$500,000 contract to unemployed wide receiver Terrell Owens to become the team's part-owner and wide receiver. DeWayne Patterson (born April 20, 1984) is a former American football safety. He was signed by the Utah Blaze as a free agent in 2011. Patterson was born in Redlands, California. He attended Chaffey College from 2003 through 2005 where he was named a preseason All-American. Mike Tatum
Mike Anthony Tatum (born April 29, 1986) is an indoor American football wide receiver for the Bismarck Bucks of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He played college football at Oxnard College. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Marion Mayhem in 2009. He played with the Mayhem until their demise during the 2010 season. Tatum then finished the 2010 season with the Fort Wayne FireHawks. Tatum then returned to Marion in 2011, when a new franchise called the Marion Blue Racers expanded into the CIFL. Shane Austin
Shane Austin (born June 14, 1989) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at University of Hawaiʻi. Austin went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft and signed with the Everett Raptors of the Indoor Football League (IFL) after the draft. After starting the Raptors final games of the season, Austin was able to gain the attention of the Pittsburgh Power of the AFL. Austin was named the starting quarterback for the Power, but a broken hand caused him to miss two months of the season. Austin then was assigned to the Cleveland Gladiators where he was named the backup to Chris Dieker. With Dieker struggling for the Gladiators, Austin was given the opportunity to start and lead the Gladiators to a 14–1 record as a starter and a berth in ArenaBowl XXVII. The Credit Union of Texas Event Center (formerly Allen Event Center) is an American 6,275 fixed-seat multi-purpose indoor arena located in Allen, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas. The arena opened in 2009 under the name Allen Event Center. Construction cost was $52.6 million ($63.5 million in 2020 dollars). Rio Rancho Events Center is a 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a city located near Albuquerque. The arena is located near the intersection of Unser Boulevard and Paseo del Volcan. It is part of a larger "City Center" project, which also includes a new city hall.
