2012 Chicago Vipers Season
The 2012 Chicago Pythons season was the first and only season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. On December 9, 2011 it was announced that the Vipers and the Evansville Rage would become the 5th and 6th expansion teams for the 2012 CIFL season. The Vipers will host only three games for the 2012 season and also have availability to host for the playoffs should they qualify. Co-owners Richard Petroski Jr. and Michael Duran are both looking to bring back a positive image for Chicago CIFL teams as last two have left a bad taste in the fans mouths. The team was originally scheduled to play their home games at the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, but later decided to play at the Megaplex in Homer Glen, Illinois. The team began the season as the "Chicago Vipers," but changed their names to the Chicago Pythons four weeks into the season when the Mike Duran became the sole owner of the team. Julie Harshbarger
Julie Harshbarger (born December 9, 1985) is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. She is most known for being the first woman to score a field goal in Indoor football, as a member of the Chicago Cardinals of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL), and, at seven seasons and counting, having the longest documented career for a woman playing professional football in leagues dominated by men (other female football players have typically had professional careers of a year or less). She grew up in Rockton, Illinois where she was a standout on both the soccer and football field playing for Hononegah Community High School. Her play on the soccer field attracted a scholarship offer from Rockford College. She was twice named All-Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference as a soccer player. 2012 Indianapolis Enforcers Season
The 2012 Indianapolis Enforcers season was the second season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. For the 2012 season, the Enforcers will play their home games at The SportZone in Indianapolis, Indiana after playing the 2011 season as a travel team. The team removed defensive coordinator Tiny Lee, and replaced him with Brian Hendricks, who will also serve as the wide receivers coach. The team also announced the signing of CIFL veteran quarterback, Ron Ricciardi to help lead the offense. Ricciardi brought instant stability to the offense throwing 5 touchdowns in his first game coming off the bench. Those 5 touchdowns were more than any Enforcers quarterback had thrown all season in 2011. Hara Arena
Hara Arena was a 5,500-seat multi-purpose arena located in the Trotwood, Ohio suburb of Dayton. The facility began as a ballroom in 1956, added an arena in 1964 and grew to a six-building complex which closed in August 2016. The 2012 Dayton Silverbacks season is the seventh season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. After much speculation about whether or not the Silverbacks would leave the CIFL and join the Ultimate Indoor Football League, the Silverbacks management made an announcement that they would be staying in the CIFL and helping the league rebuild after losing its top two teams from the 2011 season. Coach Derrick Shepad resigned at the end of the 2011 season. On September 8, 2011, Mister Askew was named the 6th coach in Silverbacks history. Dow Event Center
The Dow Event Center (formerly known as Saginaw County Event Center and Saginaw Civic Center) is an indoor arena located in Saginaw, Michigan. The center consists of several parts: The Atrium, The Garden Room, The Theater, The Red Room, Huntington Event Park, and The Arena. It currently houses the Ontario Hockey League's Saginaw Spirit. The facility has housed a number of hockey teams in the past, such as the Saginaw Lumber Kings and both the IHL and UHL incarnations of the Saginaw Gears. The 2012 Saginaw Sting season is the fourth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. On November 11, 2011, Esposito sold his rights to operate the team to Schweigert, Rob Licht and Jim O'Brien. The new ownership announced the same day that they would be moving the team back to the CIFL. On December 29, 2011, the Sting announced that 2011 interim head coach Vince Leveille would return as the full-time head coach for the 2012 season, but just 11 days before the team's first game, Leveille stepped down as the head coach, citing that his full-time job made him unavailable to do both. Defensive Coordinator Fred Townsend took over as the team's head coach. McMorran Arena
McMorran Arena is an entertainment complex in Port Huron, Michigan consisting of a 4,800-seat multi-purpose arena and a theater. It was designed by Alden B. After the disappointing end to the Port Huron Predators season in 2011, Dave and Cyndi Kinsman wanted to bring back a team to Port Huron in 2012 and the future.
