The 2012 Castle Point Borough Council election took place on 3 May 2012 to elect members of Castle Point Borough Council in Essex, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Conservative party stayed in overall control of the council. Canvey Island is a town, civil parishes in England, civil parish and reclaimed island in the Thames estuary, near Southend-on-Sea, in the Castle Point district, in the county of Essex, England. Castle Point is a Non-metropolitan district, local government district with Borough status in the United Kingdom, borough status in south Essex, east of central London. The borough comprises the towns and villages of Canvey Island, Hadleigh, Essex, Hadleigh, South Benfleet, and Thundersley. The borough council is situated at Thundersley. It was established in 2004 to campaign for a separate district council for Canvey Island.
