The 2012 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of five races in 5 canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 25th edition. Canoe Slalom World Cup
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup is an annual series of races in canoe slalom held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. It has been held since 1988 in four canoe and kayak disciplines for men and women. The four original disciplines were men's single canoe (C1), men's double canoe (C2), men's kayak (K1) and women's kayak. A women's single canoe discipline (C1) has been added to the world cup in 2010. The men's C2 event was removed from the world cup series in 2018 and it was replaced by the mixed C2 event. 2018 was also the first time that world cup points were awarded for the extreme K1 event. Competition format The world cup is a series of individual races usually taking place during the summer months of June, July and August. The athlete (or boat) that accumulates the highest number of points from all world cup races in the given discipline becomes the overall world cup champion. David Florence
David Florence (born 8 August 1982) is a retired British slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1999 to 2021. He is the 2013 and 2015 world champion in individual single canoe (C1) and 2013 champion in double canoe (C2), the latter with Richard Hounslow. Florence was the first canoeist since Charles Dussuet, sixty years earlier, to achieve the C1, C2 double at the same World Championships. Florence won silver medals at three consecutive Olympics: in the C1 in 2008 and in the C2 in 2012 and 2016 (with Richard Hounslow). He announced his retirement from the sport in May 2022. Mallory Franklin
Mallory Franklin (born 19 June 1994) is a British slalom canoeist who has competed internationally since 2009. She competes in both Kayak (K1/seated double-blade paddle) and Canadian Canoe (C1/kneeling single-blade paddle) classes, as well as the Extreme Canoe (XC) discipline. She won silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Women's C1 event. She is a five-time World and seven-time European champion, with particular success in team events. Rosalyn "Ros" Lawrence (born 12 June 1989) is an Australian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2006. She also competes in wildwater and creeking events.
