2012 British Supersport Championship Season
The 2012 Motorpoint British Supersport Championship Protected By Datatag season was the 25th running of the British Supersport Championship, the rules have stayed as they were from last year with the two race format providing some intense racing. With champion Alastair Seeley leaving for the British Superbike Championship the field should be closer than ever, Ben Wilson stays to see if he can finally capture the title. It proved to be another closely thought championship with Jack Kennedy and the returning former Supersport champion Glen Richards battling all the way to the final race of the championship, where it was down to the second and final race, in a drama packed race Richards fell at westfield on lap 2, meaning Kennedy only needed to finish to win the title, but on lap 8 Kennedy's dreams were ended with a mechanical problem for his MARtrain Yamaha forcing him to retire and hand Richards the title who was unaware of the events until arriving back in the pits. British Supersport Championship
British Supersport Championship is a support series to the British Superbike Championship (BSB) for engine capacities smaller than Superbike. British Supersport runs one or two rounds per weekend at each BSB event. The BSS championship is seen as a stepping stone for the younger talent to progress to the British Superbike Championship or to World level classes. Riders such as: Tom Sykes, Cal Crutchlow, Sam Lowes, Alex Lowes, Jonathan Rea and Leon Camier all raced in this championship during their early careers. Oulton Park
Oulton Park is a hard surfaced track used for motor racing, close to the village of Little Budworth, Cheshire, England. It is about from Winsford, from Chester city centre, from Northwich and from Warrington, with a nearby rail connection along the Mid-Cheshire Line. Silverstone Circuit
Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Towcester, Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Cadwell Park is a motor racing circuit in Lincolnshire, England, south of Louth, owned and operated by MotorSport Vision, a business associated with former racing driver Jonathan Palmer. Sited on former parkland across a steep-sided valley with dips and crests, the circuit features sharp changes in gradient, including one section called ''The Mountain'' where bikes can become airborne by up to several feet.
