2012 Baltic Cup
The 2012 Baltic Cup was a football competition which was held on 1–3 June 2012 in Estonia. Format For the first time, Finland took part in the competition. As a result of this, the round-robin format was changed to knock-out tournament, as Latvia did not agree to play more than two matches. As a result of this, penalty shoot-outs were used to decide the winner if a match was drawn after 90 minutes. Stadiums Tamme Stadium in Tartu was used for the matches involving Estonia and Võru Stadium in Võru was the host for the other two matches. Tehvandi Stadium in Otepää and Viljandi linnastaadion in Viljandi were also to be used, but were unavailable for the time period. Edgars Gauračs (born 10 March 1988) is a retired Latvian footballer who played as a striker. Club career Ascoli Until summer 2006 he played for Blāzma Rēzekne, but after training in Italy with teams like Milan, Sampdoria and Lazio, he signed with Ascoli. He was released from the Italian club in 2009. Ventspils FK Ventspils signed him before the UEFA Europa League matches in 2009. He appeared for FK Ventspils in the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League group stages. He scored a goal against Hertha BSC in the first match 1–1 draw. Tehvandi Sports Center ( et, Tehvandi Spordikeskus) is a complex of sports facilities in Otepää Parish, Estonia. It includes multi-purpose stadium (athletics and football), ski stadium, ski jumping hill K90 and biathlon shooting ranges. Vladimir Voskoboinikov (born 2 February 1983) is a retired Estonian professional footballer who played as a centre forward. Club career Voskoboinikov began his career at Puuma in Estonia where he played from 1991 until 2000. At the age of 18, Voskoboinikov continued his professional career with Levadia. Njazi Kuqi (born 25 March 1983) is a Finnish former professional footballer who played as a forward. Kuqi started his career with FC Lahti of the Veikkausliiga in 2002, spending three years with the club and scoring twenty goals in all competitions. In January 2005, Kuqi signed for Birmingham City, but failed to make any first–team appearances during his 18-month spell with the club. Andres Oper (born 7 November 1977) is an Estonian football coach and former professional player. He is currently an assistant manager of Estonia national team. Oper played as a forward for Lelle, Flora, Tervis Pärnu, AaB, Torpedo Moscow, Roda JC, Shanghai Shenhua, ADO Den Haag, AEK Larnaca, Nea Salamina and the Estonia national team. Vitālijs Smirnovs (born 28 June 1986) is a Latvian footballer, who currently plays as central defender for FK Spartaks Jūrmala.
