2012 BFI London Film Festival Awards
The 2012 BFI London Film Festival Awards were held on 20 October 2012 during the BFI London Film Festival, which ran from 10–21 October. It was hosted by Sue Perkins at the Banqueting House in London, England. There were four awards presented, along with the BFI Fellowships that went to Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter. Awards Best Film Winner: ''Rust and Bone'', directed by Jacques Audiard. This is the second win for director Jacques Audiard, his first win was in 2009 for his film ''A Phophet''. With a partnership with American Express, the film was selected for being the most original, intelligent and distinctive filmmaking in the Festival. The award was presented by Sir David Hare, the President of the Official Competition jury. Banqueting House
In English architecture, mainly from the Tudor period onwards, a banqueting house is a separate pavilion-like building reached through the gardens from the main residence, whose use is purely for entertaining, especially eating. Or it may be built on the roof of a main house, as in many 16th-century prodigy houses. It may be raised for additional air or a vista, with a simple kitchen below, as at Hampton Court Palace and Wrest Park, and it may be richly decorated, but it normally contains no bedrooms, and typically a single grand room apart from any service spaces. The design is often ornamental, if not downright fanciful, and some are also follies, as in Paxton's Tower. There are usually plenty of windows, as appreciating the view was a large part of their purpose. ''In the House'' (french: Dans la maison) is a 2012 French comedy drama directed by François Ozon. The film's screenplay by Ozon is loosely based on Juan Mayorga's play ''El chico de la última fila'' (''The Boy in the Last Row''). The film won the main prize at the 2012 San Sebastián International Film Festival, the Golden Shell, as well as the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay. Plot Germain, a middle-aged literature teacher, bonds with his 16-year-old student, Claude Garcia, while tutoring him to improve his writing skills. This leads the precocious and disdainful student to be increasingly transgressive and antisocial, demonstrating a flair for manipulating relationship dynamics and for finding ways to satisfy his needs. Scott Graham
Scott Graham (born June 10, 1965) is an American sportscaster best known for his broadcasts of the Philadelphia Phillies, his work with NFL Films, and his studio hosting of '' The NFL on Westwood One''. Rufus Norris
Rufus Norris (born 16 January 1965) is a British theatre and film director, who is currently the Artistic Director and Joint Chief Executive of the National Theatre. Life and career Norris grew up in Africa and Malaysia, attended North Bromsgrove High School and Kidderminster College of Further Education, and later trained as an actor at RADA before turning to directing. Sally El-Hosaini ( ar, سالى الحسينى ) is a Welsh-Egyptian film director and screenwriter.
