2012 Australian Sports Sedan Season
The 2012 Kerrick Sports Sedan Series was an Australian motor racing competition for Group 3D Sports Sedans. The series commenced on 14 April at Mallala Motor Sport Park and concluded on 14 October at Wakefield Park after fifteen races. 2012 was the 28th year in which a national championship or national series for Sports Sedans had been contested in Australia. Kerry Baily claimed his sixth Sports Sedan title after winning the first five races of the series and consistently finishing on the podium. Former champions Tony Ricciardello and Darren Hossack overcame a difficult first round, which saw both of them borrow another competitor's car, to finish second and third in the series. Group 3D Sports Sedans
The National Series for Sports Sedans, formerly the Australian Sports Sedan Championship, is a Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, CAMS sanctioned national motor racing title for drivers of cars complying with Australian Sports Sedan regulations. This class, essentially a Silhouette racing car, silhouette racing car class, caters for cars of essentially free construction but utilising some of the bodywork of a closed, series production vehicle. The Ford Falcon (AU) is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1998 to 2002. It was the sixth generation Ford Falcon and also included the Ford Fairmont (AU)—the luxury-oriented model range. Holden VS Commodore
The Holden Commodore (VS) is an executive car which was produced by Holden from 1995 to 1997 and 2000 for utility versions. It was the fourth and final iteration of the second generation of the Commodore. The range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VS) and Holden Calais (VS). Overview Launched in April 1995, the VS Commodore served as a mechanical update of the second generation architecture, destined to assist sales before the all-new VT model in August 1997. The extent of exterior changes veered not much further than a redesigned Holden logo and wheel trims. Holden Calibra
The Opel Calibra is a coupé, engineered and produced by the German automaker Opel between 1989 and 1997. In the United Kingdom, where it remained on sale until 1999, it was marketed under the Vauxhall brand as the Vauxhall Calibra. It was also marketed as the Chevrolet Calibra in South America by Chevrolet, and the Holden Calibra in Australia and New Zealand by Holden. Jaguar XKR
The Jaguar XK is a two-door 2+2 grand tourer manufactured and marketed by British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars from 1996–2014 in hatchback coupé and convertible bodystyles, across two generations. The Ford Falcon (EB) is a full-sized car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1991 to 1993. It was the second iteration of the fifth generation of the Falcon and also included the Ford Fairmont (EB)—the luxury-oriented version. It launched shortly before the Holden Commodore VP. Chevrolet Corvette GTS
The Chevrolet Corvette is a two-door, two-passenger luxury sports car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet since 1953. Holden Monaro
The Holden Monaro ( ) is a rear-wheel drive coupé manufactured by General Motors Holden in Australia from 1968 to 1975 and later reintroduced from 2001 to 2005. Holden VL Commodore
The Holden Commodore (VL) is a mid-size car that was produced by Holden from 1986 to 1988. It was the final iteration of the first generation of the Holden Commodore and included the luxury variant, Holden Calais (VL). Between February 1986 and August 1988, 151,801 VL model Commodores were built.
