2012 Albany Great Danes Football Team
The 2012 Albany Great Danes football team represented the University at Albany, SUNY in the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by 40th year head coach Bob Ford and played their home games at University Field. They were a member of the Northeast Conference. The 2012 season was the end of an era for Albany football. It was the Great Danes' final season as a member of the Northeast Conference as they will join the Colonial Athletic Association in 2013. It was also their final season at University Field, as they will begin CAA play at the new Bob Ford Field. The Great Danes finished the season 9–2, 7–1 in NEC play to claim a share of the conference title with Wagner. Due to their head to head lost with Wagner, Albany did not receive the conference's automatic bid into the FCS playoffs and they did not receive an at-large bid. Bob Ford (American Football)
Robert Ford (born September 10, 1937) is a retired American football player, coach of football, lacrosse, golf, and wrestling, and college athletics administrator. Ford was appointed as the head coach of the University of Albany on April 27, 1970 where he remained until retiring after the 2013 season. From 1965 to 1968, Ford served as the head football coach at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. He also coached golf and wrestling at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, where was an assistant football coach from 1960 to 1963. Ford was Albany's head men's lacrosse coach from 1971 to 1973 and athletic director from 1978 to 1982. Alfond Stadium (University Of Maine)
Morse Field at Harold Alfond Sports Stadium is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Orono, Maine. The stadium opened as Alumni Field in 1947 and underwent extensive renovations from 1996 to 1998. It is home to the University of Maine Black Bears football team. The wood and steel grandstands, built in the 1940s, were condemned and demolished in 1996, replaced with the current east grandstand, along with a temporary structure on the west side, adjacent to Alfond Arena. The current west grandstand, lights, press and luxury levels, as well as concessions and restroom amenities were completed prior to the 1998 season. The 2012 Duquesne Dukes football team represented Duquesne University as a member of the Northeast Conference during the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by eighth -year head coach Jerry Schmitt, the Dukes compiled and overall record of 5–6 with a mark of 3–5 in conference play, tying for sixth place in the NEC. TW3 was a cable television network owned by Time Warner Cable. It was carried on Time Warner Cable systems in the Capital District of New York and that area's suburbs including Saratoga County, the southern Adirondack region, the Mohawk Valley, and most of Berkshire County, Massachusetts. TW3 was formed in October 2002 as the improved successor to Time Warner 9, a similar station that was succeeded on the Time Warner lineup by sister station Capital News 9 and taking over the channel 3 position which had been pay-per-view previews. Stadium College Sports (formerly Fox College Sports) is a group of three American sports networks. Owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and Entertainment Studios (under the joint venture Diamond Sports Group), the three channels air college and high school sporting events and programming. Smithfield is a town that is located in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. Bulldog Stadium (Bryant University)
Beirne Stadium is a stadium in Smithfield, Rhode Island. It is the home stadium for the Bryant University college football and men's and women's lacrosse programs. Beirne Stadium will also host USL Championship club Rhode Island FC during their inaugural 2024 season. The stadium holds 4,400 people and was built in 1999. It was renamed from Bulldog Stadium on September 24, 2016. It has also hosted numerous events for Rhode Island High School State Championships.
