2012 Aalesunds FK Season
The 2012 season is Aalesund's 6th consecutive year in Tippeligaen, it was Kjetil Rekdal's fourth full season as the club's manager. Aalesunds competed in the Tippeligaen, finishing 11th and the 2012 Norwegian Football Cup, where they were knocked out at the Fourth Round stage by Sandefjord. They also competed in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League qualifying stages, defeating Tirana of Albania in the Second Round and then losing to APOEL of Cyprus in the Third Round. Aalesunds FK
Aalesunds Fotballklubb, commonly known as Aalesund or AaFK, is a Norwegian football club from the town of Ålesund, that competes in the Eliteserien, the first tier of the Norwegian football league system. The club was founded on 25 June 1914. As of 2004, the football club had 835 members and several teams on both professional and amateur levels. These teams are the 1st and 2nd teams, junior team, and also several age-specific teams. History In 2009 the club won the Norwegian Cup for the first time in its history. Daniel Arnefjord
Daniel Arnefjord (born 21 March 1979) is a Swedish footballer who last played for Aalesunds FK in the Norwegian Tippeligaen as a centre back. Career After several seasons in the lower divisions Arnefjord got his breakthrough after he was bought from FC Väsby United to AIK when AIK returned to Allsvenskan in 2006. A bitter moment in the 2006-season was a misunderstanding between Arnefjord and AIK's goalkeeper Daniel Örlund, which led to Arnefjord heading the ball into his one goal in the home-match against Helsingborgs IF. When the league finished two weeks later, AIK was only one point behind the league-winners IF Elfsborg, had Arnefjord let the goalkeeper make the save, AIK would have won the title. Leke Samson James (born 1 November 1992) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Sivasspor in Süper Lig. Sten Grytebust
Sten Michael Grytebust (born 25 October 1989) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Aalesund. He previously played for Aalesunds FK in the Norwegian Tippeligaen and, until the end of the 2018–19 season, for Odense Boldklub in Denmark. He made his debut for the Norway national team in 2013. Early life Born in Ålesund in western Norway, Grytebust was raised on the adjacent island of Ellingsøy. His father is a native of Ellingsøy and his mother is Liberian and Grytebust has described former Liberian international George Weah as his idol growing up. Grytebust did not originally play as a goalkeeper, but as a teenager deputised in goal when his team's goalkeeper was injured. Sander Post (born 10 September 1984 in Viljandi) is an Estonian football coach and former player who played as a centre back. Club career Early career Post made his first-team debut for FC Elva at the age of 16 in 2001, as a defender. After two seasons in Elva, he moved to JK Viljandi Tulevik. Jason Morrison (born 7 June 1984) is a retired Jamaican footballer who played as a midfielder. He played over 10 years for Jamaica and clubs in England, Belgium, Hungary and Norway. Career Morrison's first professional club was Village United in the top fight Jamaica National Premier League. He signed for Portmore United in 2004 and formed part of their league and cup winning squad that season. After a successful month-long trial with Sheffield United in December 2006, Morrison was sent to their feeder team, White Star Woluwe in Belgium. After three years of playing in Belgium, Morrison would have qualified for Belgian nationality and thus be eligible to play in the English league. Edvard Skagestad (born 6 July 1988) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a centre back for Follo. Skagestad played five seasons for Aalesund in Eliteserien and one season for IFK Norrköping in Allsvenskan. He has represented Norway at youth international level.
