2011–12 Slovenian Basketball League
The 2011–12 Telemach League was the 21st season of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Slovenia. The first half of the season consisted of 10 teams and 90-game regular season (18 games for each of the 10 teams) began on Friday, 15 October 2011 and ended on 3 March 2012. The second half of the season consisted of 2 teams from Adriatic League and the best 6 teams from first half of the season. The 2010–11 Slovenian Basketball League (official: 2010–11 Telemach League) was the 20th season of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Slovenia. KD Slovan
Košarkarsko društvo Slovan, commonly referred to as KD Slovan or simply Slovan, is a basketball team from Ljubljana, Slovenia. History The origins of the club are dating back to 1951, when Stane Urek suggested a formation of a basketball club in Poljane (KK Poljane), at one of Ljubljana's high schools. The club got its official permission to play on 13 April in the same year. After just two days, they organised their first tournament, at which they invited Rudar Trbovlje and Krka, both playing in the first national league. The team was also named KK Krim, KK Slavija, KK Odred, and finally KD Slovan – the name they have had until today. After having played for more than 20 years on the basketball court at Poljane Grammar School, they moved to Kodeljevo Hall in the 1974–75 season, where they have been playing ever since. Škofja Loka (; german: Bischoflack) is a town in Slovenia. It is the economic, cultural, educational, and administrative center of the Municipality of Škofja Loka in Upper Carniola. It has about 12,000 inhabitants. Novo Mesto (; sl, Novo mesto; also known by other alternative names) is a city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Polzela
Polzela () is a settlement in Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Polzela. It lies on the left bank of the Savinja River extending into the Ložnica Hills ( sl, Ložniško gričevje) to the north. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. Zmago Sagadin (; born 1 November 1952 in Celje) is widely considered as the most successful Slovenian and top European basketball coach with 25 championship titles both on a national and international level, recognized 9 times as Slovenian Top Coach of the Year and recipient of many other honorary awards. Zmago is known for his outstanding work with young players, which resulted in 11 of his players to move on to compete in NBA – developing more NBA players than any other coach in Europe – and helped numerous others to achieve the highest European level.
