Rochdale A
Rochdale ( ) is a town in Greater Manchester, England, and the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale. In the United Kingdom 2021 Census, 2021 Census, the town had a population of 111,261, compared to 223,773 for the wider borough. Rochdale is in the foothills of the South Pennines and lies in the Dale (landform), dale (valley) of the River Roch, north-west of Oldham and north-east of Manchester. FA Cup
The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in domestic Football in England, English football. First played during the 1871–72 FA Cup, 1871–72 season, it is the list of oldest football competitions, oldest national football competition in the world. Harry Bunn
Harry Charles Bunn (born 21 November 1992) is an English professional footballer, who plays for club Avro. Born in Oldham, Bunn began his career with Manchester City and transferred to Huddersfield Town in 2014. He was with Huddersfield for three seasons and then transferred to Bury ahead of the 2017–18 season. He has also spent time on loan at Rochdale, Preston North End, Oldham Athletic, Crewe Alexandra, York City and Sheffield United. Career Manchester City Bunn joined the Manchester City Academy in 2001 when he was nine. He scored 20 goals playing for both of City's Under-18 and Under-21 teams during the season, leading him to be named the academy scholar of the year at the end of the season. Gary Jones (footballer, Born 1977)
Gary Roy Jones (born 3 June 1977) is an English football coach and former player and former manager of Ashville. He resigned from Ashville in May of 2024. He played as a central midfielder. He made 716 league appearances, including 464 for Rochdale, for whom he holds the all-time record for the most appearances. Jason Brian Kennedy (born 11 September 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. In his 12-year-long playing career, Kennedy spent most of his career with Rochdale with whom he signed in 2009, going on to appear in 177 official games. Apart from Rochdale, Kennedy has previously played for Middlesbrough, Darlington, and has had loan spells with Boston United, and Bury. In 2013, he signed for Bradford City. Brian Barry-Murphy
Brian Barry-Murphy (born 27 July 1978) is an Irish professional football manager and former player who played as a defensive midfielder. He is currently the head coach of club Cardiff City. He began his career at his hometown club Cork City. In 1999, he moved to English club Preston North End, but began to establish himself in league football with loan spells at Southend United and Hartlepool United. Neal Trotman
Neal Anthony Trotman (born 11 March 1987) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Football career Oldham Athletic Born in Levenshulme, Manchester, England, Trotman started his football career at Burnley and progressed through the club's youth system. He captained the club's youth side to reach the Alliance Cup final but lost. However, the following year, he was released by Burnley at the age of 18 and was soon picked up by Oldham Athletic. Kevin Osei-Kuffour Amankwaah (born 19 May 1982) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. Amankwaah enjoyed successful stints at Bristol City and Swindon Town. Marcus Lewis Holness (born 8 December 1988 in Swinton, Greater Manchester) is an English retired professional footballer. He was a defender. Career Oldham Athletic Holness began his career with Oldham Athletic and signed his first professional contract with them at the end of the 2006–07 season, but did not play any competitive matches for them. While at Oldham Athletic, Holness was loaned out to Ossett Town until December. But the loan spell at Ossett Town was cut short and signed on loan on 2 October 2007 for Rochdale. It wasn't until on 12 October 2007 when he made his Rochdale debut, where he played 46 minutes, in a 2–1 win over Grimsby Town. Joseph Widdowson (born 28 March 1989) is an English former professional footballer who plays as a defender. He began his career with Premier League side West Ham United, spending time on loan with Rotherham United. He later signed a permanent contract with Grimsby Town which was the start of an extensive Football League career with Rochdale, Northampton Town, Dagenham & Redbridge and Leyton Orient. Stephen Darby
Stephen Mark Darby (born 6 October 1988) is an English former professional footballer who played as a right-back. Darby represented England at under-19 level. He began his career playing on the winning side of the Liverpool FA Youth Cup in 2006 and played competitively for Liverpool from 2008 to 2012. Darby then joined the Bradford team that reached the 2013 Football League Cup final, making over 200 appearances for the club and captaining the side for two seasons. Although he afterwards signed a two-year contract with Bolton Wanderers in 2017, Darby retired from his career just over a year later at the age of 29 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
